One more week.
That's all the time we have left to raise the money we need to make the first mobile app for Venice the best that it can possibly be.
That means the best photos, the best footage, the best interviews, the best writing. The best restaurants, the best shops, the best galleries, the best nightclubs, the best things to do and see. The best source for Venice history, and the best analysis of Venice culture past, present, and future, anywhere on the web. The best guidebook on the market, and the best way for people around the world to experience Venice from the comfort of their own home.
The first and the best—that's what we're going for. But the best doesn't come free, and that's why we're here on Kickstarter, relying on the generosity of people like you, who are willing to help independent artists like us make projects like this the best that they can be.
So to our Backers: We still need your help! Please share a link to our Kickstarter page on your Facebook or Twitter account, and send an email to your friends encouraging them to back the project as well. If you can each convince just one person to join you, we'll double our backers overnight and our goal will be within reach.
And if you're reading this and you're not not a Backer yet, then please don't wait any longer: make a contribution now, and join us in creating the first and the best mobile app for Venice.
In the meantime, we're also going to be giving you our best during this final week of the campaign, with two big events and more previews of the great content featured in the app. So if you're in the neighborhood, join me tomorrow night at Canal Club from 5-7 for "An Evening of Apps," with some great happy hour appetizers and a preview of publisher Sutro Media's mobile app platform. Or you can find me at the Venice Chamber event on Wednesday at Control Printing from 6-8. And we'll be debuting more content from the app all week— just check out our website and Facebook for photos and other info.
One more week... Please help us make it the best week possible!
Yours in Venice,
With three weeks to go in the Venice of America Kickstarter campaign, things are starting to get interesting!
Welcome to all the new backers who have contributed in the last week, and thank you so much for your support. I'll be sending out regular updates on our progress through Kickstarter, and you can also follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/VeniceOfAmerica, or on the web at www.VeniceBeachApp.com. Please remember to share a link to our Kickstarter page on your Twitter or Facebook profile when you have a chance— or if you know someone else who you think might be interested in contributing, drop them a quick email to let them know what we're up to.
We've got some exciting announcements coming this week about a new member of the Venice of America team, and a new partnership with one of the neighborhood's top websites. And of course we'll be showing off some more of the great content inside the app featuring the history and highlights of the neighborhood. So stay tuned, and thanks again for supporting the first mobile app for Venice, California!
Yours in Venice,
It may be Spring Break in Venice, but with four more weeks to go in our Kickstarter campaign, the Venice of America team is getting down to business.
This week we're celebrating all the things that make a visit to Venice seem like Spring Break no matter what time of year it is: sunny beaches, great food, fun bars and beautiful people. Venice of America will include multimedia features and reviews of dozens of local highlights, so check out our website or Facebook page for sneak peeks at some of the restaurants, nightspots, activities and visitor sites we'll be recommending in the app. And please feel free to comment or drop us a line to let us know about your favorite place for an instant vacation in Venice.
But remember—to take all this great content to the next level with professional-quality photos and videos, we need your help to cover the costs. For a contribution of just $5, you can join a growing list of people who will one day be able to say they backed the first mobile app for Venice, California. So please do what you can to support the project... and then in four weeks when we reach our funding goal, we'll all be celebrating!
Yours in Venice,
It was another outstanding week for Venice of America as interest in the project continues to build across the community.
Over the last few days, I've met with representatives from the Venice Chamber of Commerce, the Venice Historical Society, and several local businesses, as well as other creative artists in the neighborhood—and without exception, everyone is excited about the first mobile app for Venice, California. Traffic is continuing to grow on both our website and our Facebook page, and emails are starting to trickle in from other interested parties as the word spreads through the community.
Right now we're only about 10% of the way toward our funding goal, but with a little over a month to go, we're really just getting started. As more people find out about the app, we're confident that the contributions will start to flow. If you've already backed the project, please remember to share a link to our Kickstarter page on your Facebook or Twitter, or take a second to email a friend or two who you think might be willing to contribute. At this stage, every new backer we bring in helps us get the word out about the project, no matter how small their contribution. So backers, please don't be shy— go ahead and brag about being part of the first app for Venice, California!
