Update #2: Race vouchers for $50 and $100+ pledges
Hi Backers,
Thanks for considering and/or making a pledge to support the Madison Marathon web project. This is just FYI for the backers who want to make a pledge in order to get a 50% off or 100% off voucher to run in the race. First off, the voucher can be transferred to anyone. Second, you will need to tell me who will receive the voucher so I can contact that person directly. I will need his/her email. Third, he or she should not sign up for the race on active.com which is how everyone else will be signing up. The active.com site has no provision to pay a lower fee and it also charges the user a fee for using the site. Whoever receives the voucher, should contact me by email (info@madcoedc.org) and I'll instruct them how to sign up for the race at a reduced or no cost. If you have any questions, just call me at 406-682-5923.

Update #1: Madison Marathon sign-ups now open
Hey Backers,
Thanks for pledging to support the Madison Marathon. We are making good progress on reaching our goal and I have 100 percent confidence that we will raise $3,000 to build the website and have some left over to promote the race.
This is FYI either for yourselves and/or all your runnning friends. The Madison Marathon is open for sign ups. Just like the previous two years, we will be using active.com to sign up. Simply log onto www.active.com and then search for the Madison Marathon in Montana. There is also a marathon in Madison Wisconsin with the same name. Sign up is available for full, half and team marathons.
Sign up before it's too late.
Thanks and keep spreading the word about the Madison Marathon.

Madison Marathon Poster - - - - Every year we design a unique poster proudly boasting that the Madison Marathon is the 'Highest Road Marathon in America.' Who knows? In 20 years, the 3rd annual poster could be a collector's item!
Pledge $15 or more
Madison Marathon Official Race T-shirt - - - Every registered runner in the marathon will receive a race t-shirt as part of his/her race entry fees. Like the poster, the t-shirt says to the world 'Hey, I just ran the highest marathon in the world. What have you done lately that's anywhere close to being that cool.' Donations of $15 or more will receive a complementary t-shirt and, since I am the race director and I can make such a call, you can lie to your friends that you ran the highest marathon in American even if you really didn't. I'll back you up!
Pledge $25 or more
Madison Marathon Official Race T-shirt & Race Medal - - - Like the t-shirt, all registered runners will receive a race medal for completing the Madison Marathon. A donation of $25 or more will earn you both the t-shirt and the medal and my own promise to back you up when you lie to your friends that yes, indeed, you ran the highest marathon in America. Please just don't claim that you won the race!
Pledge $50 or more
A 50% discount voucher (transferable to anyone) on the 3rd Annual Madison Marathon race entry fee for an individual race (not for the team marathon). - - - There is a entry fee to participate in the Madison Marathon (see in the $100 donors section below). A donation of $50 or more will get you a half-off voucher for the 2010 race either for yourself or one of your crazy running friends who would love nothing better than to run a marathon at an elevation of 9,000 feet.

Free Racing Vouchers!! - - - For every $100 donated, the donor will receive a voucher (transferable to any runner) for any individual (not for the team marathon) to compete in the 3rd Annual Madison Marathon free of charge. There is an entry fee to run in the Madison Marathon. The fees for the 3rd Annual Madison Marathon will be: Half Marathon - $40, Full Marathon - $70, and Team Marathon (four runners) - $140. Your $100 donation means a free entry voucher which would be a great gift to one of your much loved, if a bit insane, running friends or family member who has always wanted to run a marathon at 9,000 feet above sea level where there is no oxygen and seemingly not a lot of rational brain cells either.
