Hello friends,

In 60 days you rallied to help me release Sita to the world. Now, 60 days later, here is where we are.

On 10/10/10 I kicked off a tour with a live streamed concert from here in Craftsbury Common, VT. Hundreds of people watched, listened and chatted from all over the country. I handed Sita out in person to many old friends and new listeners in Lansing, Traverse City, Rochester, Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Chicago, and Ann Arbor in houses, bars, a gallery, a warehouse, and a theater. Sita has sold nearly twice the amount of copies To Begin Again did at this point and I am receiving positive reviews from my peers and press.

The return from my tour in the Midwest to me is the symbolic beginning of a new focus on New England. I am reaching out to local artists here and finding so much information on the web about artists, venues, and media here surrounding Vermont. It is rich, like the soil well tended and as vast as the valley below us, and slowly it feels more and more like home.

Now, we are preparing to move to our farm full time, and to welcome new little one into our lives in April! As we root down, I am carefully weighing what seems like endless options in the music world. I am seeking advice from music industry professionals, and trying to learn from those who have walked this path before me. I am humbled by the possibilities and also, at times, overwhelmed by them. I am investing consistently in improving my web presence. So, look for a new and improved website in the coming weeks! Besides that, no big decisions have been made yet, but it is moving along at a comfortable pace. A pace I am used to walking. A pace that has the balance of family and community in mind. For those of you who know me best, you'd say I like to think things through, and you'd say it in a tone that says a little more than what you said.

P.S. To those of you waiting patiently for your song books. Thank you. Creating the book has been a greater challenge than I thought it would be so I am seeking the help of musicians who know more than I and learning a lot in the process. It will come, and when it does it will be accurate and accessible!

I am honored!

As a child I began to dream that my life would be significant. I imagined I would help the world be a better place, and be on Star Search while I was at it. (remember Star Search?!) At 15, my mom gave a guitar and my ambitions morphed into a life as a rock star! Screaming fans surrounding me as I said things that empowered people to take life into their own hands! As the crowd noises faded into my everyday I developed a strong relationship with that guitar. It became a confidant for me to pour my sorrow or excitement into, and a tool for me to share those emotions with others. I slowly realized that the true gift was the connection I made with individuals around me and most especially my friends and family. The grandeur of the idea of being famous has faded and the deep joy of living each day as someone who plays music has taken its place. I don't think my days of aiming to please others is over by any means but I do believe that my focus has turned to you, to yours, to our communities, and to anyone who is in need of and open to genuine human feeling. We are a constellation of stars. Be it rock stars, folks stars, mom stars, dad stars, accountant stars, dog grooming stars, dancing stars, skipping stars, fishing stars, non profit administration stars, medical stars, massage stars, farming stars, lawyer stars, teacher stars, small business owner stars, etc. We are all shining together! And we are connected to each other. And we will shine our brightest when we remember that fact.

I am shining brighter than ever because of your encouragement. I will let you know how your gift evolves into action. I will continue to update you on my progress as I hope you will continue to be a part of this adventure.
