Beautiful religious cards for Christmas or just because!

I write icons based on Byzantine tradition. Each icon is created according to a pattern handed down through the centuries. The emphasis is not on innovation, but adherence to a spiritual tradition meant to draw the viewer closer to Christ. Yet each hand painted piece is an original bathed in prayer and carrying the whisper of the one who painted it. 

The process of writing an icon is slow and meditative and involves many steps, I work in egg tempera and 24K gold on natural gesso. It takes me 3-4 weeks to create each one.

My goal is to create a series of six icons from the life of Christ. I have completed the first two and I am beginning work on the third. After completion, I will have then printed on high quality cards (envelopes included). I will include a short description of the image on the back. This will be perfect to send a special note to someone, or to mail Christmas cards that actually have Jesus on them.

For my $25+ backers, I plan to offer a choice between the Christmas collection (2 each of The Nativity, Mary Mother of Tenderness, and Christ Emmanuel -the young Jesus), or the complete set ( 1 each of the Nativity, Christ Emmanuel, Christ the Teacher, Christ Casts Out Demons, Man of Sorrows, and Christ in Glory). You will have these just in time for Christmas mailing.

I am asking for enough to cover the minimum print run. If I exceed my goal, I can make an even larger print run, and also just feel happy inside.
