Astoria Music & Arts (AM&A) is thrilled to announce the next installment in their 2011 event programming: Astoria Music Now! 2011 - our 4th annual music and arts festival. AMN! is a celebration of local musicians and artisans that takes place in various locations throughout Astoria Park, on August 21st 2011 from 12:00PM to 9:00PM.
Scheduled to appear this year are over 50 acts featuring various local musicians, artists and vendors gathering for an extraordinary day of song, dance and entertainment on five different stages located throughout Astoria Park - an event unlike any other in the area. “Astoria Music & Arts is 4 years old and we’re proud to showcase all of this amazing talent,” said Justin Finley, AM&A’s Founder. “The festival has doubled in size since last year and I think that’s a testament to the dedication of the artists in this great community.”
Private funding is critical to the success of an event like this. AM&A is a non-profit organization with no grant funding. We rely solely on contributions from the community to build this project from the ground up. The money you generously contribute through Kickstarter will go specifically towards financing the sound crew, staging and sound equipment for three stages with our friends at Jakeyland productions.

For the last four years, Astoria Music & Arts (AM&A) has been committed to preserving the continually thriving music and arts community of the Astoria/Long Island City area. From large-scale outdoor festivals in Astoria Park to collaborations with groups like the comedy troupe Post-Grad, to co-producing an original rock musical with Mishap Productions their mission to build a bridge between local music, performing and visual artists, is steadily growing in scope and impact.
Founder Justin Finley and the ever-growing list of bands and artists partnering with AM&A are responsible for putting on some of the only shows that feature local and original acts and as a result, have become an integral part of the cultural life in Astoria.
