Bennington, VT's own Patch Cord needs YOUR help to produce our very first independent studio recording!
Dear Friends Old and New,
My name is Sam Clement. I'm a Staff member at Bennington College, a life long supporter of the arts and someone immensely proud to say they have had the pleasure of mentoring and playing guitar with the members of Patch Cord for the past year. What began as a simple gesture to encourage music at a local middle school, soon became a passion which has yielded a band of musicians with experience that far surpass their age. Watching, supporting and encouraging the musical growth of Patch Cord has truly been one of the most important experiences of my life, and I thank each of you in turn for doing your part to support their growth. While we have expanded our catalogue of music, it now occurs to me that it deserves a place amongst the record collections of everyone who has listened, supported and truly enjoyed the effort and musicality this band puts forth in a live setting. I am of course speaking about the desire for Patch Cord to record an album highlighting the breadth of work we've covered in our time together.
Outside of Patch Cord, I've been closely involved with the construction of a small independent recording operation in North Bennington called Akin Studios. With the aid of fellow Bennington College Staff member Matt Scott, little more then elbow grease and a collective vision has yielded a space perfectly suited for both rehearsal and recording. We've amassed a fantastic collection of equipment, and currently sit approximatively $1,200.00 shy of a goal that would allow Patch Cord to record the album we've all been imagining with no additional expense.
I'm writing you today to ask for your support in closing the $1,200.00 gap that will allow Patch Cord to record our first album on our own terms, locally, and with no additional overhead. Your contribution will be used only to cover the cost of the computer and software necessary to professionally record this endeavor.
If this Kickstarter goes through- recording begins this winter and it's safe to assume that Patch Cord will have an album to call its own by the Spring season.
I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to read this, and hope you'll share this information with anyone you think might have an interest in supporting not only this extremely talented ensemble, but the arts in Bennington as a whole.
Have a question? If the info above doesn't help, you can ask the project creator directly.
