Family In Church
Dear Friends of Family In Church;
Here we are, we closed! Show was a wonderful success, audience very moved, primarily either identifying with family dynamics to the point of feeling that the play was describing their family, or simply stunned and not able to speak... "intense", "powerful", "phenomenal", "wow", "complicated but it all comes together in the end", "I have to sit with it", "lots of heart" "take it to NYC", "Long Days Journey in the Night like". One press critic didn't know what to make of it, both comparing it to the movie, Tree of Life (in consideration for Oscar nominations and won at Cannes this year) and also not necessarily relating to it. Another called it a "play you will not forget, but is that a good thing? Go see for yourself". The actors and direction were well-admired as was the disco church set design. Personally I will continue to cut and work on the script before submitting the production to festivals.

Et nous voilà à la clôture! La pièce fut un grand succès, le public, très ému, s'identifiant avec les dynamiques de famille au point où il avait l'impression que la pièce parlait de leur famille, ou bien restant bouche bée... "puissant", "intense", "dense", "wow", "compliqué mais finalement tout se tient à la fin", "il faut que j'y réfléchisse", "beaucoup de coeur", "allez à NYC", " à la Long Days Journey into the Night". Une critique de press ne savait pas trop quoi penser, comparant la pièce au film, Tree of Life (a gagné à Cannes cette année et aussi en considération pour des oscars), mais ne sachant pas vraiment comment s'y retrouver. Une autre a écrit "une pièce que vous n'oublierez pas d'ici peu, mais est-ce une bonne chose, venez voir pour vous-même!" Les acteurs et la mise en scène furent admirés ainsi que le décor église disco. Personnellement, je continue de couper et de travailler le texte afin de le soummettre à différents festivals.
