Music and More
Hello Folks,
Just a brief update to let you know what's happening with the film's efforts.
I've attached an mp3 file of the opening scene's music composition. (See bottom of page for the player) It's a pretty intense scene and hard to describe without giving too much away. But I'll give it a try: Stanley is about to begin on this film project which has been growing inside of him for many months, almost like a malignant tumor. Now he has finally summoned up the courage to go ahead with his dream of making a unique horror movie and these are the first three minutes of his trip. The music should give you an idea of the dark nature of his journey. It should also give you some insight into Stanley's trepidation at embarking on something over which he has no real control...just an ultimate vision.
Young Kurt is moving along with the rest of the sound design and we are on the home stretch!
In the meantime I have gathered all the website material - bios, pics, am working on the videos, writing production notes, anecdotes and I have a good idea of what else I want featured on the site. Once Carlin, the wife, has finished at ITP (final day is this Friday - at last!) she will be putting the site up.
Luis Medrano, who did the opening titles for the film, is designing a poster for us. We had a design meet about two weeks ago and since then he's been working away in his spare time. I'm excited to see what he has accomplished.
Favorite taglines at the moment are:
He's Stanley, he, is a filmmaker!
It's Peeping Tom meets Audition...in a Harlem basement.
How can a blood-saturated basement still manage to make you smile?
I have almost settled on the Anthology Film Archives as the venue for the friends, cast and crew screening. It's one of the largest cinemas for hire in the city, within our budget range and also rather well known for showing excellent indy content. Confirmation later this month.
So the people at Ink NYC Tee-Shirts sent your shirts off to my home address when I specified my work address. I corrected them and after a small tour of New York City's outer boroughs the Limey Films Producer shirts should be arriving by the end of the week - excellent!
That's all for now. Onwards!
