A Web series about table top gaming, gamers, the lives they live, and the fantasy worlds they create.
Out of Character is a web series about a group of gamers who meet up to play a table top RPG, very similar to Dungeons and Dragons. Through the course of the series, they get to know one another over multiple gaming systems and many gaming sessions, forming friendships through shared experiences, both in and out of game. About the characters:
John: The charismatic, surprisingly socially adjusted, all around likable gamer. Played by Adam Richardson, John plays the paladin, Sir Denrik, a knight of humble origins who seeks to restore his family's name, for the glory of the god Conlaed.
Sam: The plucky, overly enthusiastic, creative type. Played by Matt Elliot, Sam plays the barbarian, Fenris, a warrior of exceptional skill, but very few words.
Jessica: The nerdy, shy, quiet gamer girl. Played by Jessica Bene, Jessica plays the mage, Marlana, a student of the arcane who has, rather unwilling, been sent into the world to get some hands-on experience with her magic.
Nate: The loud, obnoxious power-gamer. Played by Patrick Ward, Nate plays the Cleric, a priest of Conlaed who has taken vows of poverty to the church, and travels to see more of the world and bring word of Conlaed where it is needed.
Jake: The young, eager, first-time gamer, and younger brother of Jessica. Played by Jamey Feshold, Jake plays Boc, a rogue from a distant land.
Vince: DM, storyteller, and sometimes ladies' man. Played by Josh Fletcher.
The sixth player: As any gaming group can tell you, getting a group of people to gather consistently for a recreational activity is difficult. As such, there often seems to be a floating seat occupied by whomever shows up that week. In this case, Vince has prepared Lorana, the noble's daughter turned bard (played by Crystal Fox), to be played by the floating sixth player. At the beginning of the series, it is Laura (played by Katie Lombard), Vince's current girlfriend.
