Yes, my son was too young for the cards too and we wanted younger kids to play so we developed the basic games without the cards, which younger kids love. It's just draw two tiles, play one tile, discard one tile.
Also, Fot kids who have a hard time handling large numbers of tiles and/or cards you can limit the number to say 5 for example. So once you get 6, you need to play one or discard. This can keep it more manageable for some.

Me and kids have played a couple of times since getting it last week The cards I think are great, though we ended up with a whole bunch of extra throughout the game (this may not be the case when i get to play with adults) the cards are a little to advanced for the kids right now but it is fabulous that there are basic rules too and they are excited to just make creatures too with the tiles. I love the quality of it too. I also got excellent response fom the warehouse regarding the missing cards and tiles. Excellent game! Is the long neck expansion available?

You should have receive the extra two tiles and cards with the package. If not, it was a mistake and we can get them to you.
Also, to address a question on BGG, "the game is for 8 players and comes with 8 player shields. I only got 6 pawns. Is that pretty much standard? Was this just an oversight?"
6 and 8 player games can only be played in teams. Each team would use a single pawn.
The most pawns you would ever need would be 5, in a 5 player singles game.

Also got my copy of Cartoona today but it does not look like the Heads on Tails expansion was included. Is it in a separate box? Sounds like I need to contact Game Salute. How should I go about doing that? Thanks. Looking forward to playing the game.
