About this project
I'm currently using Photoshop and a Wacom tablet to "artify" photos. I turn snapshots into portraits and scenery into works of art. You can see some examples of my work here: Before and After Sample Portraits It's taken me years to perfect the techniques that produce these results. Now, I'm ready to add Painter to my arsenal. This particular course includes both software and visual instruction that will train me in a few months what would normally take me years to perfect. In addition to the new software, I will learn to add brushstrokes with special paint medium to the physical canvas.
Traditional artists spend months to complete an oil painting. Digital painting is similar to traditional, in some ways more difficult and in some ways easier. However, among the positives, there is no time wasted waiting for paint to dry. The time it takes to transfer the image to canvas is drastically reduced, thus enabling digital artists to produce similar work in less time. The method I will be employing will produce a final piece that will appear similar to an oil painting, but the cost will be far less.
Essentially, I will learn to combine my current talents for digital image enhancement with a physical medium to create a fusion of traditional and digital painting.

I think artists see things a little differently than most people. Some see things darker than they really are. Others see them through rosy colored glasses. I live on a pink fluffy cloud forever struggling to break free.
