About this project
I'll give you some background
I grew up
in a sports home. Ever since I can remember I was throwing some sort of ball with my dad, or playing any and every sport possible. My Father Gary Rutledge played football under Bear Bryant at the University of Alabama and won a National Championship in 1973. I had to live under this huge
shadow, but God had other plans with me and used me in high school to lead
worship for my youth group. I still played sports and did well in basketball, baseball, and really thriving in tennis. I didn't really realize I wanted to do
music until I did it every week and began growing more and more in love
with it. . . I realized that God had given me a gift, and using it to give him glory is ultimately the thing I wanted most.
I graduated high school and played junior college tennis for a year and
then transferred to the University of Alabama and got involved with
Campus Crusade for Christ. I led there for 2 1/2 years and then got
involved with Calvary Baptist Church's youth group. After I graduated
from Alabama I moved to Nashville to pursue song writing and worship
leading. I have been leading here at Fellowship Bible Church's
singles/college ministry for over 2 years now. I have also been leading for a new church plant called Ekklesia Nashville.
Finally the day has come. . .
Well this has been a long time coming. . . I'm so excited to share what God's been doing in my life the last 2-3 years through song. These 8 songs are a collection of things God has shown me and or taught me, or even that God has just allowed me to write with friends. I'm super blessed to be able to write and lead worship music for a living. I mean seriously I love what I do and I can't wait to see how God stretches me more and more each day.
Thanks for helping me pursue my dream and share the music God has given me with people everywhere.
