A new, original silent play to be produced at the Hollywood Fringe Festival in June 2012.
Well, what's the show about?
Before The Red Trees Come is a world premiere, silent play exploring themes of love, religion, consumerism, aging, and the relationship between generations. The play follows one man, named Capire, as he lives out his entire life on the stage. Each of the 3 acts in the play is one day at a different stage of Capire’s life. Throughout these “days,” he meets other people, some of whom are going through the same cycle he finds himself in, and some of whom exist on a completely different path. The play is truly genuine, original, funny, and heartfelt, and I just know people are going to love it.
Born out of my desire to explore physical theatre, and my love for Theatre of the Absurd writers such as Samuel Beckett, Before the Red Trees Come is performed in a style of pantomime that doesn't focus on being completely silent, as much as it does on a lack of dialogue.
Hmmm, who is doing the project?
This project is being produced by Harrison Bergeron Productions in conjunction with Geniuspills Entertainment. These fine folks have been bringing original, avant garde entertainment to the Los Angeles area for a few years now, and are finally looking to make an impact at the Hollywood Fringe Festival.
Props are being built by Viva La Puppet, whose work has been featured by the Center Theatre Group, LA Philharmonic, Adidas, and Cartoon Network's, "Adult Swim," among others. I'm so excited to have such a dynamic group working on the project, and there is no doubt we'll create something really great.

Okay, what do you need?
This project is going to be performed as part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival, in June 2012. This festival is a great opportunity for aspiring artists such as myself to share their work with the Los Angeles theatre community. Being a part of the festival allows artists to be a part of a guaranteed network of other supportive artists, venues, reviewers, and producers--but it still costs money.
This is where you come in. I humbly ask that you help make this dream come true for me. You don't have to give a lot (unless you want to, in which case please proceed). Every little bit will help me along. Your donations will only go to necessary expenses in producing the show at the festival (festival registration, advertising, theatre rental, costumes, props, etc.).
I thank you so much for your time and attention. Thank you for your generosity, and I look forward to seeing you at the Fringe!
I live far away from LA. I want to donate, but a free ticket doesn't do me any good. Is there a way I can see the show?
YES! Now you can see the show from a great distance by selecting the DISTANT TREES reward when donating to the project. After the project's run is completed, we'll post a very well made video of the production privately online and send you a link so you can enjoy the show from the comfort of your very own home!
