Writer: Margarita Jimeno
Photography: Daniel Mckeown
Music: Irena & Vojtech Havelovi
Sound: Greg Sextro
Montage: Therese Elfström
With: Gerald Keyzer, Meredith Napolitano, Tatsuo Ichikawa
Producer: Joshua Mehr, Leah Sapin, Margarita Jimeno

Three people prepare for a swimming proof. The award will be the grant of the citizenship for the best country of the world. A surreal approach to the emigration universe in which all the images are traversed by an almost apocalyptical aesthetic. An intense film that demonstrates de singularity of Jimeno's vision. Update #8: From the underwater to the world!
Friends, our short film SWIMMING AWAY is paddling along and we are EXCITED, ECSTATIC to announce that we officially did what we thought was impossible; in two week 56 kind backers helped us reach $7,210 by donating to Kickstarter! We've now officially reached our pledged goal - which is fantastic – thank you!!
However, it DOES NOT MEAN THAT OUR FILM IS FUNDED!
What DOES it mean??
We are guaranteed to receive the money already pledged. Yay!
Anything above our pledged goal is ONLY being used to complete our short film.
MONEY
Approx. 6-7% of all money raised goes to fees and commissions which means of our total of $9,710 (we got some money outside Kickstarter) we currently have $9,030.
We need $17,300 to make the film.
Since you make this possible, we want to be totally transparent. This budget does not include deferred fees for crew & cast...
SWIMMING AWAY BUDGET
Pre-Production $500
Production $9,700
Post-Production $6,500
Outreach $600
GRAND TOTAL = $17,300
We need to raise another $8,848 (since we lose 6-7% on fees).
Basically, WE NEED TO EXCEED OUR KICKSTARTER PLEDGE BY 300%!
Update #7: Last week's scandals in fastforward preview
Having dialogue as an actor is fun, it adds another dimension to the character, and for sure it is part of the art of acting, yet I have to say that it is a fallacy to believe that without lines an actor's craft can not be developed or lead to progress in your career. Since the beginning of acting, back in time when actors where called hypocrits, most of the emphasis was on the face. Back then they would make huge masks depicting "special emotions that were expressed on the mask, so the audience knew if a character was happy, upset, tired, or scared. Since the masks could be seen even in the last rows, the audience could tell how the character was feeling."
And what about the beginning of cinema with silent films?!
My sincere advice to all up and coming actors is to work on your ability to project and talk with your face, that means without dialogue. Isn't it amazing when you watch the great actors doing their silent trickeries? Even big name today like Johnny Depp, Daniel Day-Lewis, Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Emily Watson and so on have some of the greatest silent communication skills...check them out!
When something like what you are about to watch happens, thank the film GODS! I am so glad this happened during casting and not on set!
Enjoy the clip!
Yours
Margarita Jimeno

Yes he did, and knew there were no lines! First of all this is second call backs, secondly he spent about 5 minutes 'reading" the script, I guess he really didn't, and last maybe he wanted a cool dramatic event on TV....

Nice. Really ... nice. Well, you never know someone's motivation.
At least you have something interesting to say. And it's great to hear you saying it. Keep it up!
