About this project
Hi!
You've found your way to the Kickstarter page for "Non-Essential Personnel", a satirical web series about a group of administrative employees who work for a private military contractor (a la Blackwater or Haliburton). Imagine the most boring, bureaucratic office job you've ever had. Then imagine all that boring work you were doing was in support of a morally ambiguous mercenary army. This is what our characters live with everyday... until they decide they've had enough and start plotting to take down their employer.
What's the status of the project?
We are currently in pre-production. Most of the cast and crew are confirmed. We're scouting locations, fine-tuning the scripts, and working out the shooting schedule. We plan to roll camera on August 14 and wrap on August 22... if we can secure our budget.
What's the bottom line?
Our goal is raise $3,500 from people who would like to see this project happen. It's a pretty modest budget, but enough to feed and transport our cast and crew, and provide the shoot with top notch camera and sound equipment.
Besides helping to entertain the world, what's in it for me?
For those willing to contribute to the cause, we've got a lot of cool ways with which to say "thanks!" The contributor rewards are all detailed in the sidebar (buttons, episode downloads, DVDs, credits!) but since this is an audience participation type of program, if there's anything else you'd like to see added, just let us know!
