I've given up my desk and it's time to hit the road. Help me share my act with some new folks!
For the past ten years, I've been working at jobs that have kept me anchored behind a desk in New York City. Along the way, I've banked a lot of stage time in the city working on my comedy. Finally, I've got a window in my schedule to go out on the road and show everybody what I've been working on all this time!
The collective spirit of Kickstarter has inspired me to let go of the embarrassment of asking for help and just admit it: at this point in my life/career, I can't afford to do this on my own. I'm not selling out stadiums (YET.), but I am performing in cool little venues. They are generous and wonderful and just my size, but the cost of transportation, gas, lodging, and food will make it difficult to break even. So that's where you come in!
I've included a $10 option which is simply a ticket to see me perform on the tour (see below for dates and cities - not all tour dates are eligible for this option, and in some cases, this deal will get you TWO tickets. It sounds complicated but I promise, I am good at math and this will work out). If you are not in a tour city, there are many other options. If you've ever downloaded my free podcast, enjoyed one of my videos or blog posts, or seen me perform for free, consider this a way to say thanks! And, if I raise extra money, I will definitely extend the tour and hopefully come to your hometown later in the summer.
Above all else, if you back me on this project, you are supporting live comedy which is an art form I love very much, and I hope you do too.
My goals:
- Perform in as many cities and meet as many people as I can across this great land.
- Hone my act on the road, so that soon you can hear me on my very own comedy album or watch me perform this stuff on your television set. And then you can say "I helped!"
- Not make my financial situation any worse so that I can continue to produce my podcast, video projects, and live shows back in New York City!
How the funds will be spent:
- Flights, car rental, and gas fees for shows in 15+ cities across the U.S. This also includes a few flights to pay for an opening comic to come with me.
- Any money I make from shows will go towards hotels (in cities where I have nowhere to crash) and food.
