My name is Matt Renz. After 18 years in the corporate world of UnitedHealth Group I decided to take a leap of faith. I have been wanting to write a novel for all of these many years. On a recent vacation I learned one thing, writing a novel is a full-time job. So I took the leap.
The best advice I have received was to write about things you know. Well, I know insurance, golf, travel and art. So I have created a character named Chance O'Connor. Chance is England's next golf prodigy. Chance is tall, extremely handsome, beautiful accent, elegant golf swing. Golf affords Chance the ability to travel the world. So does his main benefactor, uncle Hugh O'Connor. Hugh is Chariman of Dermot Lloyd's Insurance Company in London. Dermot Lloyd's is the place to go to insure any type of valuable art. And when this art goes missing Hugh calls on Chance O'Connor to get it back.
The idea it to have a character I can franchise. I believe Chance O'Connor is this character. The beauty of this character is he can go to all corners of the world, form Moscow to Kiev (this is where the first big event happens), from Los Angeles to Miami to London. And even St. Andrews, Scotland (this is where my second evnt happens.).
My most pressing needs are living and the cost of research. I am very grateful for any amount you can pledge.
