Please tell us you have the international shipping issue handled somehow. I'd hate for the rest of us to be forked somehow because it was never figured out.
Creator Jean-Philippe Encausse on April 1
Hello,
Any updates about international shipping ?
Did you find an alternate provider that do not cost twice as product cost ?
Creator Jason Kruyer on March 30
A couple of coats of polyurethane and this is looking like real furniture. Keep up the good work, we look forward to the Firmware release!
Creator Len White on February 25
We've started shipping tables! We're starting with "Track Tables" since the ships are lighter and smaller. All the other assembled tables will start going out as soon as manpower permits (next 2 weeks).
Assembly and software instructions are going to start percolating onto Playsurface.org starting today.
Thanks for your patience. It's been a long road...
Creator Erik Rydeman on February 9
Bump! How's the shipping going? :)
Creator Jason Kruyer on February 2
Having received my "survey" concerning shipping information on this project, it now occurs to me to ask "Will you will be sending out e-mail announcements to people to whom you have shipped their product?"
It has been about a week and a half since I received my survey, and it would be nice to see this notification when things ship, so that we can either be available when the trucks deliver, or have somebody else accept delivery.
Creator Len White on January 24
Chris, it will probably be under "Sandbox" on Playsurface.org and is our first priority once units are on trucks. In the mean time, post ideas and links to work-in-progress on the Forum. We are excited to see what you are thinking of...
Creator Chris on January 18
I've browsed the forum a bit... Any ideas when/where the software/drivers/games/documentation will be added? I'd like to get a jump on what I can.
Thanks.
Creator Len White on January 17
Dexter, on the forum page, at the bottom left is a link for "Create an account".
Fill that out, you'll then have a username, and you should be able to post.
Creator Dexter Andrada on January 17
Hi Len,
What do we use for username and password to be able to join the Forum at www.playsurface.org?
thanks
Creator Len White on January 6
Hi guys.
Sorry we haven't sent out too many updates lately.
We do have a few updates on our Playsurface.org site about the assembly process that we're currently in the middle of. Our assembly room is filled to the brim with tables as we put them together. It's been a construction process unlike our little company has ever seen!
A couple of us are heading to CES in Vegas this upcoming week to show off the Playsurface and let people play around (if you're going to be there, please stop by and say hello).
The week after CES we're going to be finalizing our shipping prices and getting final shipping arranged with everyone expecting delivery. Hopefully the week after that tables will start leaving our facility and heading into your homes.
Thanks for your patience. -Len

It's January, and while I understand software and firmware may have set you back significantly, I would still like to be updated on how soon the tables will be shipped. I have yet to see anything in my email inbox since the original notification of project funding. It makes me nervous when updates are this lacking. So please, any updates would be appreciated.
Creator Joel Barron on December 18, 2012
Hey guys, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do/where I'm supposed to go to give you my shipping info... maybe I've missed that in one of the updates? Thanks.
Creator Dexter Andrada on December 18, 2012
While waiting for the playsurface, can you give us a brief background on the blob boards?
Thanks
Creator Len White on November 13, 2012
Hey all. We are starting assembly on your Kickstarter Playsurfaces! There's still some dev work on the BlobBoards but the final chassis design is definitely an improvement (in several ways) over what we showed in our videos.
We still plan to ship in early to mid December.
More updates forthcoming.
Thanks again for your patience and support!
Creator Jimmy Chu on November 13, 2012
Yes, any update on delivery time table?
Creator Prashant Gagneja on October 31, 2012
Updates on delivery timeline will be appreciated.
Creator Philip King on June 6, 2012
I ama very excited that this project has been funded. I work at a K-8 school and am very interested in getting some of our kids working on one of these surfaces. I see groups of 3-4 students working together on a Playsurface. A couple of Playsurfaces in a room would make a great activity center for a classroom.
The real key for us may be finding the right software to capture both the student's and teacher's imagination so that they will use the Playsurface regularly.
Congratulations on the funding. I can't wait to get a working Playsurface in our school.
Creator Alisher Ashurov on June 5, 2012
As I am from developing world and as a backer I'd like to see in Playsurface other features. In a way I'd like to be thinking that I am funding not only product but a platform that let's users to develop their own products based on the provided platform. such as large format touchscreen for information centers, for building large screen TV, and other interactive screens for developing world. Given that pledge exceeded the initial goal, it gives developers an opportunity to consider building platform to include these features too.
Creator J Hardesty on June 4, 2012
I'd like to second the question about surface size. Obviously the display size will depend on the projector focus and brightness, but can/could the blob board be calibrated for a larger/further away/higher resolution displayed area?
Creator Henry on June 4, 2012
What's the biggest surface we could build with basic components? I was wondering if it would be possible to build a collaboration wall or a much bigger table...???
Thanks and congratulation for the successfull funding, Henry
Creator Jeremy Limman on June 4, 2012
Congratulations on being backed!
Some of my ideas are:
1. Simple card games like Blackjack with smooth UI that allows multiplayer game. It will need ingenious system to be able to peek to your card without having others knowing. I've seen a software implementation of this in an iPad app.
2. Learning games for children.
3. An application or framework to allow multiple tables to communicate with each other. This will enable usage in public or common places such as a Cafe.
Creator David Rawlins on June 3, 2012
I am a great believe in open source projects both as via products in their own right and in the competition effect they have on established players, so I am very pleased to see this project reach its target goal. I also hope to have one of these tables in my living room in the not to distant future.
Creator Neil Carr on June 3, 2012
Congratulations!
Creator Michael Prescott on June 3, 2012
Extended use could produce some carpal/back ergonomic issues. It would be nice if there was a way of adjusting the height of the legs to induce a tilt in the surface (within the limits of stability) for people of varying heights and arm reach. Perhaps the legs could be peg adjustable. A brief ergonomics analysis would be worthwhile, and with gov't contracting, you'll probably be required to do one anyway.
w/re to additional wishlist of functions and applications:
1. Make this a well-rounded platform for 6th Sense Gesture technology and the world will beat a path to your door.
http://learnchere.blogspot.com/2012/01/sixth-senseopensource-project.html
2. Offer interfaces for Disney/Touche like WIFI devices (or opensource equivalents) that can be integrated into the Computing table and it becomes more than just a table -- it becomes a system.
http://www.disneyresearch.com/research/projects/hci_touche_drp.htm
3. Offer a clever way of switching internal power from the exterior of the box without a mechanical switch will give this the elegance of most apple products (ie, all power on, aux-power on, standby, etc, plan for options, ie, more than just on/off). All the internal space within the box, suggests that there is great potential to incorporate at least two desktops, a roku as well as equipment to interface to a/v.
4. There is big potential for trademarking a look-and-feel of how you interact with the computing table (#3 power switching is just one). Consider the iRobot/Roomba, it utilizes tones and tonality that let you know what it is doing without being overly intrusive. Consider the fictional representation of the 'invisible computer' in StarTrek NG, it beeps, it acknowledges, it interacts with you using soft-panels and flow-like graphics. iow, everyone hates Window, but it's all we have! Windows, is klunky, intrusive, exceptionally uninspired while managing to be otherwise unhelpful.
Realize, your product is not only the IPAD-killer (IPAD, too small, to fragile, not powerful enough). Seamless integration with smartphones, homevideo, and audio equipment could also make this the desktop-killer.
Creator Jason Rhubottom on June 3, 2012
Could this be a vertically mounted or maybe at a angle?
Creator Rob Byers on June 2, 2012
Congratulatons on making your goal. I look forward to this.
Creator Jean-Philippe Encausse on May 21, 2012
A very nice project that will change the way we consume media at home !
I hopes someone will find a way to get affordable UPS prices to Europe.
Creator Tony Lewis on May 11, 2012
This is very cool. I like that it looks like a nice piece of furniture. This is much better for kids than a computer.
Wow!
Creator Jake Lavenberg on May 10, 2012
