This is the hilarious story of a loveable elf named Todd and his quest to save Medieval Story Land from the evil "Dark Black Darkness."

Medieval Story Land

Medieval Story Land is a fast-paced, action-packed, comedy adventure that parodies the fantasy genre. Influenced by Paul Sill's concept of story theatre, it has the taste of a fairy tale, but is intended for adults and children alike. Originally written for the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theater in New York, the show embodies the irreverent flavor of sketch comedy.

As a parody of Lord of the Rings and the like, the show not only appeals to hobbit-loving fantasy appreciators, but to anyone who likes a good story or likes to laugh.

The show takes place in the aptly named Medieval Story Land, home of trolls, knights and wizards. The story follows Todd, a simpleton elf with a heart of gold. Todd must leave his home in (the likewise aptly named) Elf City and venture off on a dangerous quest to save Medieval Story Land from the certain destruction of the Dark Black Darkness. On his way he makes new friends who join his cause. Together they face down the Dark Black Darkness and the Dark Wizards of Dark Wizard City.

Audiences will be treated to seeing twelve actors play over forty different characters (eighty if you include trees and rocks) during this one-hour whirlwind of a show.

All five performances will take place at the Studio Theatre - The Milton Theatre (1501 14th St NW Washington, DC 20005).  The dates are, July 17th at 9:30pm, July 20th at 7:30pm, July 22nd at 3pm, July 28th at 7:15pm and July 29th at 12pm.

This production is presented as a part of the 7th Annual Capital Fringe Festival - July 12 to 29, 2012. A program of the Washington, DC non-profit Capital Fringe.

Use of Funds

It takes a lot to bring a show from concept to reality; it takes time and effort on the part of actors, writers, producers, and costumers.  It requires a serious passion for and committment to theatre, and of course, some money.  Right now, as a fledgling organization, Red Knight Productions is rich in creative vision but poor in money.  To produce Medieval Story Land we essentially have to outfit an army of knights.   Your donation will help the team create several monsters, and costume elves, wizards, trolls, nymphs, and princesses.  You will help us to pay graphic designers and fight choreographers, and to fund the dramatic promotional materials required to sell this grand adventure.  Simply put, we cannot do it alone...

So, this is your opportunity to help in creating something meaningful and important!  This play is a special one; completely written, directed, acted, and produced by local artists, Medieval Story Land is a world premiere, new play appropriate for all ages.  And just think, you could help it come to fruition.  With your generous donations, you make it possible.

The Fringe Festival

What is the Fringe Festival you ask?  Here is the description from their website (www.capfringe.org):
