What is Cardstock Cowboy?

 Cardstock Cowboy is a 2d cover based side scroller set in the old west. Run through towns, deserts, caves and various other locations battling bandits, creatures and the environment!

Why is Cardstock Cowboy on Kickstarter? 

Cardstock Cowboy has been in the works for sometime now, with a good deal of the art assets developed and the rest having been fleshed out and ready for work. Kickstarter comes in to help put the finishing touches on the game and bring in the help we need to get it polished and perfect for release. If our efforts here are successful, a PC/Mac port could also become a reality with a control scheme tweaked for the different platforms.

The West is a colorful and vibrant place blossoming with new commerce and growth. Towns are growing, schools, candy stores and railroads are being built.  Though in this time of bright prosperity, a shadow looms in the distance, made by those who missed  the entreprenrurial train.  Pushed to desperation and frustrated with their lack of success, those left behind join together to steal what the towns people have worked so hard to build. With the threat of the bandits rising across the west, another issue ensues. You see, the West I speak of was forged out of nothing other than Cardstock. Cardstock that loses its color overtime, bleached by the relentless sun. Fortunately, there are 7 keepers of the markers that hold the responsibility of restoring the land to its beauty. Unfortunately, the bandits see these markers as an opprotunity to wreak havoc and of course black mail the townsfolk and set about stealing the markers. If the bandits hold the responsibility of recoloring the world, they can extort money and supplies out of the townsfolk. When they finally come across the keeper of the final marker, he refuses to give it up and the bandits are forced to kidnapp our poor hero's pet bird and threaten to pluck out its feathers if the marker is not turned over!

Context Sensitive Actions:

 - Slide into cover behind crates, barrels, walls, ect!

- Vault through windows, over balconies, across train cars! 

- Dodge, roll, jump your way through the world to avoid the dangers of the west!

- Use enemies as shields..or weapons.

- Save the towns folk from hazards like fire, vultures, snakes, coyotes and other nefarious creatures!
