I have had a lifelong love affair with both the martial arts and film. I came upon them both at an early age and my connection and understanding of both have evolved over the years.

Dancing Dragon represents a marriage of these two much beloved artforms. As a filmmaker, I've developed the story to take the characters through a dramatic whirlwind. At the same time, the martial arts action will be spectacular.

I'm also trying to bring back into martial arts films the much neglected philosophical and spirititual aspect, without being preachy. I intend for Dancing Dragon to have the perfect balance of entertainment, moving drama, exciting action-adventure and a film to reflect on and learn from.

The story deals with a man who has lost everything and has resigned himself to having no future. However he maintains a spiritual center. When an angle is presented to him wherein he can regain some of what he has lost, he seizes it, only to realize that the cost may be too great. At the same time, the other characters in the film each have to deal with their own questions regarding their life choices. Success despite having to engage in destructive action. Choices of family and its value versus power and wealth. Choices of love versus pursuit of one's chosen destiny. Choices of free will versus precalculated fate.

On the other side of the scale is the action, which I want to present as being both exciting and authentic. Even while delving into the more esoteric forms of Kung-fu, the excution will still be based in reality.

It is for this reason we are coming to Kickstarter looking for the funding to make this amazing project a reality. Hollywood loves the bottomline, but unfortunately no longer loves film. Endless remakes, retreads, sequels and franchises have been the death of creativity.  Kickstarter however has become a new beginning for those with a unique vision to seek the means to see those visions made to reality. We hope to become a part of this wonderful community and work to see not only our project but other creatively intense projects come to fruition.
