"The Gran' Scam of Things" originated from an actual piece of spam mail. It has now grown into a unique comedy that explores financial abuse.
THE SCAM STORY
In today's digital age, we are increasingly exposed to threats to our privacy, identity, and money. "The Gran' Scam of Things" is a new fantastical short film that draws upon this growing reality in a light-hearted, comedic way. It follows Gladys Weiss, an elderly woman who has an unusual and surprising experience when she receives her very first e-mail. Written and directed by Leor Baum, this story's origins can be traced back to an actual piece of spam mail. A dedicated team of actors and filmmakers have now brought it to life. THE EFFORT
A majority of short films today can easily get lost in the festival shuffle as only a very select few manage to hit a special chord with audiences. We are confident that our story's unique message and style has the potential to really entertain audiences, while raising awareness about the issues we care about.
WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING?
All donations will be spent on essential post-production costs, namely original music composition, sound design, titles, and a final sound mix. Can you imagine what 'Jaws' would have been like without music or if 'Star Wars' didn't have sound effects? These elements are a big part of what makes movies so memorable. Your contribution will enable us to add the lasting quality this story deserves.
