I'd like to produce a fine wooden jigsaw puzzle, with fewer than 100 large pieces. Rich and colorful, with interestingly shaped pieces!
Inspired by my 88-year-old mother-in-law Florence, I'd like to produce a jigsaw puzzle that's colorful and sophisticated, with large, interesting, but not-too-many pieces. Florence enjoyed watching our family put together the Phoenix puzzle I produced last October, but couldn't really participate. She had trouble manipulating the little pieces, and there were too many of them.
Florence has better success with children's puzzles, with larger and fewer pieces. However, like many seniors, she is a person of discriminating taste. She used to visit galleries and museums regularly, and had a house full of beautiful art. Children's jigsaws just aren't her style.
I've looked and looked for sophisticated senior-friendly puzzles, and have realized that they're impossible to find. So I'd like to use the same company that made Phoenix, Liberty Puzzles of Boulder Colorado, to create a gorgeous new wooden puzzle with less than 100 pieces. The image will be of one of my fabric hangings, with rich color and detail. Each piece of the puzzle will be shaped differently, with many whimsies included. I will SIGN each puzzle on the back, giving each a number (as in a limited-edition artist's print).
This would be a great gift for a senior in your life. And there's no reason children wouldn't enjoy it too!
