Video of NOT ABOUT BOMBS Artists' Talk Posted

Update #8 · Mar 20, 2012 · comment

The video from the March 2 Artists' Talk with featured artists Sundus Abdul Hadi, Tamara Abdul Hadi, and Dena Al-Adeeb is online at http://vimeo.com/iarproject/notaboutbombs. The discussion is moderated by exhibit  curator and IARP Art Director Tricia Khutoretsky.

NOT ABOUT BOMBS presents contemporary art by Iraqi women. What are the women of Iraq feeling and thinking after the "end" of the US-led war, in the midst of its aftermath and the tide of the Arab Spring?

Thank you again to every Kickstarter donor who made Sundus, Tamara, and Dena's trip to Minneapolis possible. Watch for video interviews with the three artists to be released soon.

If you have any questions, please contact curator Tricia Khutoretsky at tricia@reconciliationproject.org or Luke Wilcox at luke@reconciliationproject.org.

The Iraqi and American Reconciliation Project (IARP) promotes reconciliation between the people of the United States and Iraq in response to the devastation affecting Iraqi families, society, and culture. IARP recognizes the common humanity of the people of Iraq and the people of the United States. Working with the Muslim Peacemaker Teams (MPT) in Iraq, IARP creates bridges of communication, understanding and support between Americans and Iraqis that lead to tangible acts for rebuilding a country devastated by years of war, sanctions, more war, and occupation.
