Update #5: We Have A Couple of Offshore Islands in Maine, USA for You to Choose

Posted on March 14, 2010

Hi Landicity Kickstarter Team,

We have got a couple of island candidates for you and the Earth Day Project. If we can get people to help, we can lock in one of these. But, we can not do it without all your help -- thanks so far.

We attached a video of some of the islands. They range from 40 acres to more than 500 acres. The island photo includes a 200+ acre island with an imposed grid. The small pink blocks represent how we would place Planuts aroung the island using 4 1/4 Hectare blocks.

Each has it's own personality and certainly the fragile environment on each island is different. Some will be around after global warming - some might not depending upon the amount of sea level rise!

  • 1 Hectare = 10,000 sq m; ~ 2.5 acres

  • 1/4 Hectare = 2500 sq m = 250,000 Planuts

  • 1 Planut = 100 sq cm

  • 1,000,000 Planuts/island == maximum we will make availabale in 1/4 Hectare blocks

Please take a look and send us a vote on which one you like.

thx
Bob and team

Update #4: Maine Island -- OOPS

Posted on February 5, 2010

The first island is large, but the second one is larger; almost 400 acres of island for you and all the Landicity members

Update #3: Some great islands for us to consider

Posted on February 5, 2010

Join for $1, %15, or $35 for a Landicity Maine Island Deed.

Here are two of the islands we have on our list as candidates. Once you help us hit our goal, we will put the option to purchase on one of our candidiate Maine Islands.

These islands are nice, pristine, diverse and have a multi-faceted personality. Each is larger than 50 acres. They are so different from the ocean side versus the land facing side. Beaches, coves calm on one side; roaring ocean waves, rocks and salt spray on the other.

We will post some other islands in the future during our project.

Please help us spread the work to all your friends. Send them a link http://kck.st/9J7gUZ
