Policing up the Stragglers

Update #16 · Sep 19, 2012 · 1 comment

If you haven't gotten your book (or your PDF rewards by now) you should definitely be messaging me and letting me know.  Especially if you are a customer inside North America. Some of our customers outside the hemisphere might have a good reason why their book hasn't arrived, but not the North Americans.

So far only one book has been returned as undeliverable. It was a pre-order through Arkham Bazaar so none of you folks have to worry.

Distributor orders go out this week and Arkham Bazaar will have them on their website.

Your Books are on the Way!

Update #15 · Sep 4, 2012 · 4 comments

Dear Patient Backers,

The good news is that your books are on your way to you. As of Saturday, September 1st at 11:57am all the books had been turned over to the US Post Office. The total bill for shipping was just under $1,700.00 and receipt I got was 24 feet long. Suffice to say the clerk who processed it all was less than happy to see me arrive and looked like he'd been through the Bataan Death March when we were done. Folks in the Puget Sound area should be getting their books today or tomorrow at the latest. North Americans and most over-seas orders will be getting their orders in the next 10 days or so. If you have not received your order by the 15th give me a shout here at Kickstarter and we'll start getting you a replacement copy.

As for the bad news... well, there isn't any. Well, not much. For those of you who had problems with the download of the Player handouts, playtest notes and Pre-generated characters, please send you emails to me here. I've already gotten a couple of folks for whom it did not work. I'll be getting to them out in the next couple of days.

In more good news I will be restarting the process of scheduling Role Playing Game Skype sessions for the Backers who hit the $300.00 mark. Keep your eyes open for that. It'll be coming in the next day or so. Depending on the preferences of the individual gaming groups I may record these games and make them available to everyone to listen to.

Thank you again for your support and your patience.

GenCon Ate my Head

Update #13 · Aug 14, 2012 · comment

What do you want first? The good news or the bad news?

Well the bad news in that I haven’t managed to get all the pre-orders and Backer rewards copies of Bumps in the Night packed. So I’ve had to make a couple of tough decisions that I know are going to disappoint some people.

So the bad news is, I can’t mail out the books until after I get back from GenCon. With the time it will take to pack the remainder of them, I’d expect them to go out by Friday August 24th. I apologize for this delay, but there were just too many things to handle in the run up to GenCon for me to get everything done. Bumps in the Night will be on sale at GenCon, but distributors orders will not be sent out until after all backer copies are shipped.

The first bit good news is that I’ve sent out the PDF rewards today. Everyone who was a Backer should be getting a collection of Player Aid PDFs, a PDF of the Playtest notes, and a PDF of the pre-generated characters I used to run “The Vengeful Dead.” I hope this sharpens your appetites. I’ve sent them out via a service called Abobe SendNow. You should be getting an email from Abobe SendNow any time now.

The second bit of good news only applies to folks who are going to attend GenCon. Many Backers and folks who pre-ordered have asked if I could bring their copies of Bumps with me to GenCon, and while I resisted this idea at first, I’ve changed my mind. I will be bringing a couple dozen signed copies of Bumps in the Night with me to GenCon in my luggage. If you come by the booth you can pick your copies (signed or unsigned). I won’t have copies of the pre-press The Unspeakable Oath #1 there. So higher level backers will have to wait until I get back from GenCon.

Now I’ve got to scramble these last 6 hours to get my own personal gear ready to fly to GenCon in Indianapolis.
