Angelo Dundee, the greatest fight trainer of all time, has been in 21 films during his storied career, but never one like this.
Boxing legend Angelo Dundee has starred in over twenty documentaries over the course of a fantastic career that saw him train Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard to multiple world titles and universal fame and fortune. Yet no film has yet asked the question of how this remarkable man became the greatest fight trainer of all time.
For almost two decades after World War II, Angelo toiled in relative obscurity, an island of straightforwardness and integrity in a sea of corruption and cynicism. Mobsters and corrupt politicians battled for boxing's soul just as the advent of television began to erode the foundation of its business model.
Throughout it all Angelo Dundee kept the faith that he would find salvation not in boxing's smoke-filled rooms but under its lights, in the corner of the next great heavyweight champion. The only trick was finding him. Help me find out how he did it.
What's the Money For?
The money covers the cost of traveling to Tampa, equipment rentals, and other indicentals, plus compensation for Angelo's time and trouble. No one involved in shooting the film receives any money.
