About this project
It's a grand experience of a lifetime! The dead will come back to life with the magic of green screen and special effects makeup. Two local Pennsylvania talents, Delia de Cock of New Hope, PA, and Larry DeGala of Exton, PA, have teamed up to make this event happen.
Larry DeGala, indie filmmaker of the award-winning feature "Contagion: The Macabre World of the Zombie Hunter," will interview Delia de Cock for a very special segment called "Interview with a Master Zombie Builder." The interview will be featured in his upcoming sequel "Contagion 2: When Zombie Hunters Bite Back."
Meanwhile, this is the unofficial movie page for the 93-minute mockumentary "Contagion: The Macabre World of the Zombie Hunter." On the "Info" section, you will find the TV Guide URL for the film's VideoOnDemand.
As a special treat for fans of the zombie hunter genre, the green screen footage shot on this day will be incorporated into "Contagion 2: When Zombie Hunters Bite Back."
This sounds kind of odd. Why not film zombie hunter together with zombies? The answer is Contagion is an annual event where 150 real-life zombie hunters gather together in the sleepy Amish town known as New Holland. The zombie hunters test their skills at axe throwing, house-to-house fighting, and long range engagement. All this to prepare for the much anticipated "Zombie Apocalypse." Everything in the zombie hunter's arsenal is real.
Obviously, live extras must play the Undead forces. And to keep everyone safe, zombies will be green-screened into the action.
Delia de Cock will have professional footage to show to Hollywood clientele and at industry exhibitions how her SFX makeup look on green screen / CGI.
Your donation money is for the following--
- rental of a High Definition camera that handles 4:2:2 color space for perfect green screen composites;
- offset the cost of special effects makeup, lighting, the physical green screen material, CGI rendering of green screen footage;
- one day of meals for actors and crew;
- the necessary paper work and insurance for filming on location;
- duplication and delivery of up to 400-500 DVDs/Blu-rays;
- updating the Special Appreciation/Sponsorship credits on the official "Contagion 2" website
Larry DeGala has waived his day rate just to make this happen; he is not getting paid (again).
If we exceed our goal, we can add more zombie extras and necessary makeup assistants / PAs to the crew. It's going to be one Undead block party!
