Cookbookin' into the Spring

Update #11 · Apr 26, 2013 · comment

Hello, dear backers!

We hope that this update finds you enjoying Spring wherever you are! Maybe out on your bikes? Exploring new roads and some new recipes perchance with a Pedal Inn Weekender in your pocket--or on your smartphone?

The Spring finds us STILL working on the cookbook. We don't have an exact estimate on our completion date, but we can tell you that we're really excited by the way it's coming together and we're going the extra mile to make sure that it's a truly useful and beautiful resource for you.

If you haven't already, you can follow us on our Facebook page, where we're posting more occasional updates on our progress and meantime bicycle, friend, and food adventures.

P.S. Our website tells us that about 30% of you haven't yet downloaded your e-Weekender, and your password has now expired. For those of you who haven't grabbed your copy, just email us for a new password whenever you're ready.

The print edition of the Pedal Inn Weekender--here it comes!

Update #10 · Dec 19, 2012 · 3 comments

We are ready and set, and we've just found out from the printer that we're good to go this week! *yay!* It's a little later than we'd wanted, but we're still really hoping that your copy will arrive in your hands by Christmas.

If you need to send us an updated mailing address and haven't had a chance to do it yet, now's the time!

An Update on Your Weekender & Cookbook

Update #8 · Nov 24, 2012 · comment

Hello, dear backers! And happy Thanksgiving to those of you still in a food coma from yesterday!

The last month has brought some interesting developments for your cookbook writers--and in turn for your cookbook. As we've been developing the Pedal Inn Weekender and considering ways to make it beautiful, efficient, and universally usable for all our backers from SF to Australia, it's become something of a headline act--far from the simple aside we'd once imagined. We've even recruited another creative mind--graphic designer Abe Bingham--to help turn our content into pro-quality print and digital products for you.

Your Weekender will now include more than half our total cookbook recipes on modular full-color recipe cards, all bundled up in tour-worthy vinyl sleeves. It's taken some extra time and resources, but *wow* it's turning out to be so worth it.

All this to say, your Weekender, with more than 25 bike-camp-tested recipes will be on it's way to you in no time. If you were planning to give the Pedal Inn Cookbook as a Christmas gift, this now-headline act will surely please your bike-loving friends or family. The full-on Pedal Inn cookbook, too, is benefiting from some additional design and content attention, so our print deadline on this end-product is moving into post-Christmas-land.

We REALLY hate to keep you waiting; AND we also want to deliver a product worth waiting for. Our ultimate objective is to send you a bike-camping resource that is beautiful and useful and yields reliably satisfying results. And *wow again,* getting these recipes just right (without losing our day jobs) takes a lot more time than we ever imagined!

We'll keep you posted, but expect to see the expanded e-version of the Weekender by Dec 5, and the print version by Dec 17.

Thanks again for your support--and patience!

Yours truly,

Nick + Lindy

An overdue update!

Update #7 · Oct 25, 2012 · 2 comments

Greetings, dear Kickstarter supporters!

It’s been much too long since we sent an update to all of you. Sorry to leave you hanging like that.

We’ve had our heads down, working and writing and cooking our little hearts out (as well as readjusting to life off the road) since we returned to SF in August. And now we’re just weeks away from sharing with you the fruits of our labors! We are a tad behind schedule but we think you'll be pleased with the extra thought and care we're putting into your rewards. Through the creation process, both the Cookbook and the Weekender have taken on some new dimensions (literally!) that will make them even more practical and fun for all your bike+food+friend adventures.

So without further ado, here’s our updated delivery schedule:

The Pedal Inn Weekender, e-version: early November
The Pedal Inn Cookbook, e-version: late November/early December
The Pedal Inn Weekender & Cookbook, print versions: early/mid December

Thanks again for your support (and patience). We really can’t wait to share all of our hard work with you!
