John Galt preached independence from oppressors and Che Guevara turned those words into action.
John Galt is a galvanizing figure, preaching the great truths of individuality and personal industry. As an ideal, he inspired countless people to go ever upward, ever forward, and to achieve their best. Ernesto "Che" Guevara not only pursued and achieved greatly in his personal field (revolution), but he did it to break the bounds of oppression so that his fellows could live unfettered by a controlling government.
With this in mind, we at the SomethingAwful forums could only imagine that Che Guevara would be the one to ask the only question of importance. The one question that has the power, the responsibility, to realign America with its goals of continued prosperity. Continued dominance on the world stage. And as a reminder of true freedom:
"Who is John Galt?"
This is to fund the printing a limited-run shirt
This is a Kickstarter to make a shirt bearing Che Guevara with the caption "Who is John Galt?" a reality. We are doing this as a prepayment method, with the totality of funds being used to pay for the printing and the shipping of the shirts. The lowest reward tier of $15 includes US domestic shipping (shipping is via USPS, so US military bases are considered domestic). The second tier includes the rest of North America, and the third covers shipping throughout the rest of the world.
For those living internationally who are looking for reduced shipping costs, we offer a direct quote option. Just email us with your postal code and we can quote you a price based on the actual shipping costs, of course, this quote could match the estimated costs.
If you live outside of the continental US and do not pay enough to cover shipping, we will, regrettably, withhold your shirt from shipping until the difference has been paid.
We will be having the design shown above printed on fine American Apparel t-shirts, which are offered in both a unisex and women's cut. This is the unisex cut and this is the women's cut we will be using. Use that page to check and make sure that the shirt you purchase will be the correct size and fit as AA shirts do run a little tighter than other shirts.
You have, undoubtedly, noted that the delivery time is set for September, even though this is only a two week Kickstarter. This is due to the fact that we cannot go forward with this project until all funds have been collected and received, which can take up to two weeks. Also, the printing is expected to take, at the outside, two weeks as well. With all these factors, we're erring on the side of caution and saying that the shirts should be out by around the middle of September.
Outside of this Kickstarter, all updates can be found in this thread in the SomethingAwful forums. I make posts there under the forum name BirdOfPlay, and any and all updates made there will be repeated here for those who purchase the shirt, but are not members of the community. Note that while we are members of that community, we do not operate in any official capacity there.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! We will be updating regularly, answering questions that have been asked. So do check the updates in case your question has been asked.
This project is aided, beyond the few of us running around, organizing and designing, by two outside groups.
And, of course, this shirt won't even be made without the help of our screen printers, Commonwealth Press. They are a local Pittsburgh company and are run by a couple of cool and helpful Dans. If you have a shirt design of your own you'd like to see printed, I'd highly recommend them.
Once the project is fully backed, a questionnaire will be sent out asking for shirt size and street address.
