AARON RYAN
Fantastic tattoo artist and illustrator Aaron Ryan will be contributing to TOME! Aaron is an Irish artist and illustrator based in South Bend, Indiana. He trained as an animator in Dublin, Ireland and has worked on productions for Sullivan Bluth and Warner Bros. He is currently working on an Irish folklore storybook with a dark twist. ARIO
Ario’s departure to the United States from Iran in 1978, only months before its revolution, was just one in a series of events that have molded the unique perspective of this unorthodox artist. His shift from studying physics to art was contemporaneous to changes in his native country and his own personal resolve to change. His art illustrates universal human conditions from pain, sorrow, and isolation to perseverance in confronting the richness of life and the attainment of love. Since the early 1980s, Ario's paintings, drawings, and sculptures have been shown at a number of public venues and galleries. His drawings have been widely published in books, newspapers, and journals. Currently, Ario is working on a career retrospective that will feature a collection of his drawings, paintings, sculptures, and writings. Alongside his work as a visual artist, Ario has been active in the performing arts. His work in theater and film include stage design, acting, and producing. Ario continues to work as a stage designer and actor for both theater productions and independent films. More info on Ario here:

ELISANTH & ZATSEPIN
Zatsepin Alex and Katrine Elisanth, photographer and model, respectively, are an artistic tandem specializing in dark art photography. They were born in the USSR, but work in non-traditional post-Soviet area dark style and are rumored to still be wanted by the KGB for decay of Soviet morals and ethics. Their goal is to "cheat" viewers by showing something unreal within the real. This is achieved by tremendous pre-shoot prepartion that incorporates a growing bag of tricks and experimentation with light, make-up and styles in order to minimize post-editing. Another area of focus for their work is fetish photography where they can show their passion for latex, tight corsets, and extreme high heels. Find out more about them here:

JAMIE KRANIG
Inspiration emerges in many forms. We tend to see innovative, artistic minds become a minority of misunderstood talent. Jamie Kranig is among this minority. His words constantly test a reader’s limits of interpretation by forcing them to think outside their norm, challenging them, and providing a literary experience unlike any other. His art is dark, raw, edgy, and provocative. Viewers are emotionally drawn into his work and left with a bittersweet feeling that leaves a lasting visual impression. His truly unique mind captures pieces of the world and enhances it’s reality for it’s viewers; perhaps, a reality unexperienced by anyone other than Jamie, himself. He is motivated by a past life that involved cancer consuming his body, but not his mind. Jamie combines both language and style in a way that is accessible to everyone. It is rare to find an artist that is willing sacrifice himself and make himself so vulnerable in order to inspire the minds of others. More info on Jamie here:
JULIA SH
Julia was born in Stockholm, Sweden, where she studied theater and performance. In 2002, she moved to London to continue her studies, obtaining her BA in Fine Art (film/video/performance) from Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design in 2005, and her MFA in Fine Art (media) from the Slade School of Fine Art in 2007. She currently lives in Los Angeles and is represented by Schlifka Molina Contemporary Art in Buenos Aires, Argentina. You can see more of her art here:

RODNEY BARNES interviewing JASON SHAWN ALEXANDER
Award-winning writer/producer Rodney Barnes will be interviewing featured artist Jason Shawn Alexander for TOME! Rodney Barnes is one of the most sought after African American writers and creatives in Hollywood, known for his often race-related, hard-hitting, edgy, honest, and intelligent humor. Rodney has written and produced more than 200 episodes of popular half-hour comedies, including The Boondocks, My Wife and Kids, and Everybody Hates Chris. He has also earned top honors for his work from the BET Comedy Awards, the Image Awards, and Writer's Guild of America. Since its premiere in 2005, Rodney has worked the executive producer and head writer for the Peabody Award winning animated series The Boondocks. He is currently working with series creator Aaron McGruder on the show’s fourth season. Rodney was also a co-executive producer and writer on Chris Rock’s TV series Everybody Hates Chris, a producer and writer for Damon Wayans’ My Wife and Kids, the co-executive producer of ’Til Death and a consulting producer for the FOX sitcom, Brothers. Other credits include Chris Rock’s stand-up Comedy Tour “Kill the Messenger.” Rodney is the founder of Dark Apocrypha productions, a traditional production house based in Los Angeles, that creates both traditional and branded content projects. TOBY CYPRESS
Toby is an artist and writer working in comics, film, and animation. His comic book work includes THE TOURIST with Brian Wood and BLUE ESTATE for Image Comics, BATMAN BLOODBORNE for DC Comics, and numerous other Marvel, DC/Vertigo, and Dark Horse properties. Toby's art was selected for inclusion in the prestigious SWALLOW series from IDW. He's also worked as a storyboard artist and conceptual designer for clients such as TOKYOPOP and Nike. At the core of his comic book work is his outstanding graphic novel RODD RACER, self-published through his own PUNKROCK*JAZZ PUBLISHING. RODD RACER has sold out both of its limited release printings and is currently in-process for a worldwide release. He’s currently working on a web comic called KURSK and a new comic mini-series HATESTREET. Also, look for his art book being released Spring 2013. Rodd Racer was a damn fine novel, the title pages for the chapters alone, wow..
Very curious about the other artists!
