About this project

GOAL:

My goal is to make a narrative drama that centers around life's ups and downs for a family whose thirteen year old son has Type 1 Diabetes. Like my previous films, DxONE will be personal and universal. People will be able to identify with the story no matter their race, religious beliefs, political views, gender, or background.

INSPIRATION:

My own son Nicholas was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes two years ago. The diagnosis has been a challenge for our family, as it is for the many families that have Diabetes enter their lives each year. And just like those families that have teenagers know, that can be a challenge in and of itself!

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

Every dollar will make a difference. Every bit that can be given in support of this film is an amount that will help DxONE get made and given the opportunity to find an audience filled with people like yourselves, people who value stories with heart, told by a filmmaking team that dares to dream and see those dreams fulfilled.

SAFETY OF YOUR PLEDGE:

Any denomination you pledge to help make DxONE possible is done so by using Amazon.com's safe and secure payment method and you are only charged if I reach my Kickstarter goal of $5,000. So helping to make this film possible is both easy and safe to do.

BELIEF:

I truly believe that DxONE is a story worth telling and I hope you do too. I invite you to come along on the journey of making DxONE and look forward to seeing you at a future screening.

Dan Masucci lives in New York where he has been a stay-at-home father since his first child’s birth. In 2007, he made it into the top 1% of more than 12,000 directors competing for a place on the Steven Spielberg/FOX Reality show, "On The Lot".

Dan's family-themed films have collectively had over 100 film festival screenings and garnered more than 20 awards.

With no money to make it to film school, Dan had to wait until the world went digital to begin living him dream. His movies haven't made him rich or famous but at the end of the day, it's his love and passion for filmmaking that brings him happiness.
