About this project
A few years ago, my friend Andrew Peterson and I made a CD that was fun for both kids and parents, and Slugs and Bugs was born. Now, with the help of Kickstarter, you can help us make the 3rd Slugs and Bugs CD, and get really cool deals in return.
Slugs & Bugs aims to bring your family great music that is soaked with silliness and seasoned with truth, and these new songs hit the mark. We have songs about chips and salsa, lost pajamas, shark bugs, worn out socks, and going potty (as requested), as well as songs about adoption, friendship, and how God Makes Messy Things Beautiful. But we can't make this music without you. The recording process is very expensive, and that's where you and Kickstarter come in. You pre-order CDs and select from a list of tiers with super-cool rewards, and that money helps us make the record!
Our recording budget is $20,000, and all of that money will go to pay for the fantastic musicians, brilliant producer(Ben Shive), the engineers, studio time, artwork, duplication, etc. If lightning strikes and we gain a lot more, then we'll start making the new round of animated videos we need for the new tour. If Monty Python and VeggieTales got together to play folk music for kids, all the talking vegetables would get eaten, and all the children would cry. Slugs & Bugs hopes that never happens.
Instead, Slugs & Bugs hopes to provide a few magical moments for parents and kids to share joy. Slugs & Bugs is about silliness, truth and very good music. But it's joy that we're after - since that's what you're after too.
