Daniel Haarburger is a design oriented entrepreneur studying at Stanford University. We use our kickstands every day and love them and believe they are a great bargain, well-designed and make my ipad much better at creating content. Today I ran into a slight flaw in design that I bet could make it into the next version. I cannot charge my ipad1 while it is in the kickstand standing straight up. I can put it on the side or upside down and charge it, but really, it would be best if it could charge while the button was at the bottom. All it needs is another inch of clearance (or so) above the keyboard. This is using Apple's bluetooth keyboard. Thanks!

Daniel, well done. Got mine today and appreciate the extra set. Nice touch. With the WingStand on my wife's iPad my daughter said "it's just like a computer" and thinks its great. Good work and all the best for the future ... I bet you've learnt more than any classes ever did through this proces.
I received my Wingstand here in Tokyo last week (thanks for the extra one!) and they work absolutely perfectly! My iPad is now a great writing tool.
Received the sets and unfortunately it won't work with missus iPad encapsulated with the red Quattro case. However it works just fine with my Acer A500 so at least I can use one set.
Maybe I will give the other set as the gift to my sister-in-law who has the iPad but minus the case.

Daniel, thanks so much for the package that arrived this morning. I ordered the Writer's Set and was so pleased with the product and appreciative of the extra set you included. I have not had a chance to play with the install of the wireless keyboard but did note that the Writer's Set indicated it would include "detailed instructions of how to sync the keyboard with the wireless device". @Miguel, looks like you got it sorted out but since I didn't notice this little gotcha at first I'll point it out: If you're using an apple wireless keyboard make sure the notch on the Wingstand and the pad on the keyboard line up properly. I missed that initially.
@Mark and @Daniel thank you for the advice. I was able to get WINGStand onto my keyboard.
Miguel, I had to push the wingstand on to my keyboard pretty hard. It was catching right before it would completely go on (the very last bit of the wingstand is what was catching. I think this is by design to keep the wingstand secure on the keyboard, so it doesn't wiggle when you type. I pushed it on past that & all is fine now.
@Miguel, thanks for the feedback. Each part of the WINGStand is actually a single piece but they are molded by creating a cavity between two blocks of metal (hence the appearance of two components). The material we used is a very high grade plastic and it can withstand a significant amount of bending/distortion so I wouldn't worry about breaking it. Just received my WINGStand today, and they look amazing, both black and white, and I really like the packaging.
My only problem is that I'm not able to succesfully slide the standa on to the keyboard. I'm able to slide the side with "prongs/male" but I can't with the one with "holes/female" side.
It seems that each part of the stand (male and female) was made in two parts, the body and the cap. And the cap (on the female one) seems to be a little larger to that of the body so that body part slides into the keyboard but the "cap" portion won't. And I'm worried of forcing it in and breaking it.
Does anyone else have this problem?
Wingstands arrived today. Already put one set to use. Like the ability to tilt at different angles. Not as secure, but still works very well. Much luck on future versions and other products.
Daniel, Thanks! Just got my wingstand/keyboard today & it works great. Much better than my previous method (Twelve South bookarc). Having the keyboard & ipad attached really helps. Great job & best of luck on your future projects.

One issue though and it is mine: my iphone and ipad both have heavy cases that don't fit in the wingstand. Any chance of a followup product that would have wider slots for the device in a heavy case like an otterbox?

Just got mine today. Here's a quick review: AWESOME. Here's a little longer one... So this is what this looks like, huh? Pretty good if you ask me. I mean, it makes the iPad a little workstation that I can use to write stuff, reply to emails, or even surf the net and comment in all the blogs that I follow. It's pretty cool. I like it.
One thing, though... DO NOT try to snap it into place. Much better to just slide them into place down the battery barrel.
