OUR WAISTLINE WAS EXPANDING!

Here's a little bit about who we were and what we are now.....

Let's bring a la mode back into the community where we belong!

Some of you may remember us ... a family owned ice cream parlor that specializes in Gluten free - Vegan - Organic desserts and treats. We even make our own Gluten free and Vegan waffle cones! After introducing our own brownies to the mix we were challenged by one of our loyal customers to branch out and make cakes, cupcakes and cookies. We didn't really know what to expect but challenge accepted we rolled up our sleeves, grabbed a mixing bowl and began what we thought would be a one time deal.......The rest they say is history!

Word spread quicker than you can you can top your ice cream with our signature coconut whip! We felt like an underground supplier for the vegan and gluten free world.....Only it wasn't just our customers with food sensitivities or requirements asking for our desserts! Customers would arrive giving us that wink, nod and knowing look asking for one of our baked confections! So what else could we do?....... 

Well we had plans to branch out and open up a larger location when a business partner took everything. Cleaned out bank accounts and forced us to close our doors without any notice. We did all we could to remain open but after such a hugh blow it was inevitable we would have to close our doors.

We were not to be defeated! We couldn't believe the overwhelming support we received from all our customers. We brainstormed.....dusted off our aprons, pulled out the mixer and began mixing up ideas for a new bakery and ice cream parlor. Something we like to call a dessertery, a la mode was born!

You ate we listened! We want to maintain our reputation and customers satisfaction. Keep up with the demand for our scrumptious confections. So a la mode is currently mixing up and concocting our new location so we can house all these tantalizing treats under one roof and come back full force into our community. 

To bring our secretly scrumptious sweets out from what feels like the days of probation and into the light of day where they deserve to be will take a lot of love, faith and hard work. Once again challenge accepted, we're rolling up our sleeves and taking it on head first to show our loyalty to our customers. We just need help getting there!

THE PROJECT

To accommodate our new and improved dessertery and house our ever expanding waistline we need bigger, better and more practical equipment! We're currently working out of a commercial kitchen and need to find a larger space that can house all our products, equipment and most importantly our customers! Although we were able to take some of our existing equipment with us it just isn't enough. We need a larger oven, cooling racks, a floor mixer ... our shopping list is endless!

All money raised from the project will go towards the purchase of the necessary equipment to get our new location up and running. $8,200.00 is the minimum goal, but approximately $123,000.00 is needed.

THE IMPACT

It’s just a moment in time – the first time a child bites into a delicious treat. But not every child has had their moment in time.

There are several children and adults that have food sensitivites and dietary requirements that prevent them from walking into their local bakery or ice cream parlor ordering up a slice or scoop of their desired delight and sitting back to enjoy. Sure, you can find a small slice of sweetened snacks at your local grocery store but what about the experience? Doesn't everyone deserve to have the joy of going out for a scoop of their favorite frozen dessert or swinging by to sip a coffee and satisfy that sweet tooth with a cupcake?

By supporting a la mode you're helping us to become that experience for so many that haven't had the ease of hopping in the car on a sunny afternoon to take the kids out for a cool confection. You're also supporting a small business and the local community. Once we are up and running it means we'll be creating more jobs in the local economy. We're paying it forward in so many ways and so can you!
