My name is Simas Castillo, and I would like to share with you amazing photos from the island of Hawaii. Sunsets over lava fields, rainbows over volcanic calderas, and groups of sleeping sea turtles are just some of the natural beauty that can be found in Hawaii. 

I've taken the photos, now I need your help to bring them to life as prints. Your support covers printing, materials and shipping, but most importantly allows me to continue photographing and sharing images of our home with the rest of the world. Hanging on my wall these photographs inspire me to break out of the routine world we have built up for ourselves and go in search of visceral experiences outside of our comfort zones. On your wall I hope they can do the same.  

What type of paper are the prints made on?

All prints are made on Kodak Endura Professional paper. You have two choices of paper, Lustre and Metallic, both explained below. 

Lustre: Lustre paper is the most common paper used for photographic prints. The amount of shine on the paper is somewhere between a gloss and matte finish. If you have seen other photography on display chances are it was lustre. 

Metallic: Metallic paper is a great choice if you would like to have your image "pop out". It adds contrast, sharpness and looks as if it was printed on chrome. The visual richness that it adds once hung really stands out. However if you don't like a glossy finish this may not be for you. 

How are my photographs printed? 

Each digital image is exposed on light sensitive paper with lasers and processed in photographic developers and fixer. These are not inkjet prints.

The Postards

Each print comes with a 5x7", double sided, custom made postcard showing the location the image was taken as well as interesting facts about the area.
