This piece is a meditation on cycles of times and the changing of the seasons through the uncomplicated and naïve perspective of the human spirit as seen through the eyes of young women. It explores the weight of memory and desire against the experiential joys of the present moment.

Our goal is to incorporate original movement, cinematography, and music in the increasingly popular platform of Dance Video to give a unique expression of our generations’ (20-somethings) relationship to and concept of time.

Profane Temporality is a yearlong project shot in various locations around New York during the four seasons featuring different dancers in each segment. We have already begun production and completed principal photography for the Fall portion, but need more funds to help cover cost for rehearsal space, minor production expenses, wardrobe, and various aspects of post production.

Much of this project has come together out of personal drive and cooperation between our independent dance and filmmaking community to create for the pleasure of creating outside the confines of commercial industry.

We have a dedicated team of young artists excited to make their mark. The dancers have been cast, original music is being composed, the winter choreography is well into development and most locations have been secured. Up to now, nearly all costs have been out of pocket from our team, but we need help to ensure things keep running smoothly.

Completion date for the project is set for mid July.
