This Project - Develop 2013 Spring Line

At This Shirt Helps, we believe in Social Enterprise, or “For Purpose” business.  What’s good for business should be good for the world.  

What we do is simple.  We sell high quality, ethical, eco-conscious and socially responsible clothing at great prices.  All our products provide a measurable amount of help in the world and we tell you up front exactly what that is.  We only use factories that uphold proper working conditions and labor standards, and all our basics are made in the USA out of 100% Organic Cotton or with Recycled, Repurposed and Sustainable Blends.  This way our consumers can feel good when they look good. We launched our business model late last year with a great fitting and great feeling T-Shirt line and the response was amazing (Look down the page or check out our website for some of our first season press, store, celebrity and industry partnership highlights of the last 6 months!).   

That’s why we need your help right now to design a larger range of products for next season.  Our T-Shirts are already in 60+ contemporary stores in the U.S. but to get into larger chains and more stores in general -- we really need a full product line.  The funds we'll raise with your help through this Kickstarter campaign will cover the costs to design and develop that 2013 full collection.

The (good) problem...

As small business owners, we always dreamed that our concept would catch on and would enable us to expand our line BUT ironically when it did catch on it happened faster than we imagined and we can't finance both current production and new development on our own.  We have to use all or our current operating budget to finance production and sampling of our basics program (SEE HERE) but with your support we can continue the momentum  we've built and bring our brand to more stores by designing and developing the following additional items for Spring 2013.  

Mens: Henley, Zip Hoodie, Raw Pocket Tee, Knit Button Down, Tank Top, Sweater, and 4 Statement Tees.

Womens: Cardigan Tank, Fashion Tank, Fashion Tee, Knit Button Down, Cardigan Sweater, Sweater V Neck, 4 Statement Tees.        

Unisex: Scarf, Bracelets, Necklace.

When this project funds we'll update weekly with posts on the development of these items to keep you in the loop so you can see how you're support helped and how the design and development process all works!

Our success was based on the idea that instead of trying to reinvent fashion, it makes more sense to focus on things that everyone is already going to buy and just make them better, both in quality AND business practices.  That's why we focus on awesome basic products that everyone already needs and we'll continue that philosophy with the 2013 Spring line that you help us develop.  This  way we're not asking consumers to do something they weren't already going to do.  Good Products + Good Price + Feel Good = Good Business.

Fashion retail legend Lisa Kline's new online marketplace, VANITI, chose us as a premiere brand for their launch and as supporters of our brand they even shot a great video for us this month! Vaniti Video

The Famous American Rag Flagship store on La Brea gave us premiere holiday placement and a prominent window display, we hope to recreate this situation when our new product offering comes in.

Manufacturing Questions -  We currently make all of our clothes in Los Angeles at factories that uphold proper working conditions and labor standards. As we grow we aim to employ factories around the country and world that will tie into our philosophy of having a positive socio-economic impact and "Good business should be good for the world".

Environmental - We make all of our products with organic, repurposed and recycled materials whenever and wherever possible. This includes our clothing, hang tags, marketing materials, etc. We strive to be at the forefront of environmentally sound business practices and hope to lead the way for future environmental best practices.
