Big Weekend

Update #14 · Dec 1, 2011 · comment

Dear Friends,

It's the big weekend! This weekend the paintings from Bucko's Blessed Sacrament Series will be all together and on display for the last time. This is your chance to see them and also choose one as your reward for backing the project.

Last weekend, my Mom and roadie Peter, did an amazing job constructing a display for the paintings. Their presentation was beautiful and made me very happy and proud. As people admired the paintings my smiles were effortless. I'll share a couple photos at the bottom of the update webpage for you to see.

This weekend I encourage you to drop by. On Saturday, December 3rd, the exhibit will be in basement of the Church after the 4:30pm Mass. It's a Coffee Social so people will be encouraged to come down to socialize and have some refreshments. The display will stay in tact for this event but you are welcome to reserve your painting.

The Pick Day: On Sunday, December 4th, I will be at the Church from 10:30am (after the 9:30am Mass) and staying after the 11am Mass. During this time, the display will slowly be taken apart piece by piece as backers choose their paintings. Some additional paintings will be up for sale as well. It's first come first serve for the choice of paintings. Please respond to the survey sent out before Sunday if you have a preference for a certain colour of painting. I will reserve them for you if possible.

Blessed Sacrament Parish is located at 194 Fourth Avenue.

After Sunday, I will tackle the final part of the project, delivering and mailing paintings to backers who were not able to come in person.

Looking forward to seeing and hearing from you in the coming days!

Perfectum Means Finished

Update #13 · Nov 24, 2011 · comment

Dear friends,

I have finished painting 50 + 5 Blessed Sacrament Paintings. A week ago they were all here in my bedroom, covering my walls. A constant force of energy, hosts and crosses radiating towards me. It was overwhelming and amazing. And now, my walls are almost completely empty, devoid of crosses.. just a few of my favourite abstract paintings littering the walls. It is done.

The experience has been quite rewarding. It has tested me physically, mentally and spiritually. I learned a lot of new skills. It was a ton of hard work and in the end I'm grateful for that. It feels great to be finished! (At least the painting part)

Thank you. Thank you to all my backers and everyone who spread the word. Your generousity made it possible. I had many people come help me along the way. Mamu, Barry, Murray, Peter, Ermias, Sarah, Madison, Catherine, Olivia, Rob and Mike. You were my hands when my hands couldn't reach.

And now it is time for the Exhibit!

53 of the 55 Blessed Sacrament paintings will be up on display at Blessed Sacrament Parish starting Friday, November 25 at 8pm (following a special healing mass at 7pm). They will remain up for viewing throughout the weekend. So please take a look after attending a mass. The last day for their display will be Sunday, December 4th. On that day, backers will be able to pick out a painting as their pledge reward to take home. For those that cannot come in person, I will be sending out messages in the following days to ask for your postal address.

I will try to attend as many masses as I can during this time.

Hope to see you soon!

First Steps - Backgrounds

Update #11 · Oct 10, 2011 · comment

Dear Friends,

Production has started! The first step in the process was to prepare the backgrounds of the paintings. The majority of the Blessed Sacrament paintings will have a bright (almost orangey) red background. I've included a photo of a few of the canvases painted red and drying after a coat of gloss was applied. The second photo shows my wall with some of my original completed paintings along with the new ones that are in the process. At the moment, I have about 15 canvases on the go!

The weather in Ottawa has been phenomenally gorgeous for Thanksgiving. Everything truly feels beautiful when it is warm and sunny. Thank you for giving me an extra reason to be grateful this year by supporting my project. It's starting to roll!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Bucko

Supplies Arrive!

Update #10 · Sep 18, 2011 · comment
Dear Friends! It has been a while since the last update. I hope your Summer was happy and fulfilling. The special order for the canvases and frames took much longer than anticipated. They finally arrived this past week after a good month. I'm excited and nervous as production will start this week on the 50 paintings! Thank you for your patience and support. More updates to come soon! Many Blessings, Bucko
