Amazon Customer Review:
I noticed many bad reviews on the Auris, so I felt like I could share my opinion.
I bought mine directly from Auris website. I use it to pair my iPhone 4, iPad 2 and Macbook to my Bose Sound Dock II. At first setup, I had a little connection trouble, then I realized that I can't connect all devices at the same time so I had to make sure one device is disconnected before I try and connect the other, otherwise the connection will fail. Note that you don't have to PAIR the device over and over, just connect it again. Only at first use you'll have to pair each device (by holding the power button til it flashes red and blue) then you'll be good to go. It saves up to 8 devices - so you can pair that many devices and connect them right away after the initial pairing.
The sound quality is great. I have not experienced any sound drops so far (been using it for over 2 months now - daily). The unit charges as soon as you dock it, and you can use it as it charges. If the battery is empty or very low, you'll have to give it a minute or so to charge a little then you'll be able to use it. When you first use it, you'll have to charge it fully before pairing - you'll know the charge is full when you see the red light indicator is off.
The Auris has a built-in mic and you can answer your calls using it (by pressing the on/off button). I have not used this feature yet.
What I don't like about the Auris:
- No battery level indicator. Sometimes I'd wonder why it won't connect then I realize the battery must be low. A battery bar indicator or something to show the battery level would be nice.
- I don't like how plastic-y it is. Although it doesn't effect how it works, it feels cheap when you hold it in hand and it makes me question its durability.
Overall, this is a great unit. I'm quite satisfied with how it works and with the sound quality.

Backer Review posted on Amazon:
I am not affiliated with auris in any way. I was surprised when I saw that it had less than glowing reviews so I decided to write one from the perspective of a tech geek and audiophile who has used plenty of different bluetooth adaptors like these over the years.
I am into hifi sound and headphones, but I love the ease of connecting via bluetooth at times. I've been using bluetooth adapters for awhile and a few years ago, there weren't many options on the market. Looking now, you can see that there are plenty of options for this sort of device. The thing that makes this one special is the technology that they used called aptX, which is a digital audio data reduction technology- it makes the music sound better. You can read more about aptX on Wiki if you are interested. Since I listen to music in lossless form, I figured I would give the auris a try. There is a definite difference in sound quality between the other bluetooth adaptors and this one. I use them on my Bose sounddock and the auris is way better than the others. It has crystal clear sound at high volume where the other models start to sound fuzzy, and I can walk further away from the Bose without the sound breaking up when using the auris.
I am more than satisfied with this product that I purchased through their Kickstarter campaign. If anything ever happens to the one I already have, I won't think twice about replacing it with another auris. If there is any doubt about whether or not this is what you want, I recommend going for it. That's what Amazon's no hassle return policy is good for. You won't be disappointed.

The lack of any meaningful response from Touchkraft to legitimate complaints has taught me a very simple lesson: don't buy anything from anyone not prepared to stand by their product.
Creator Sergio Hernandez on April 23
Wow. There seem to be tons of defective units all around. I had a defective unit that didnt work when connected to a 30 pin dock connector. I received a replacement unit within a few weeks. It now works, but not very well. Whenever i have music playing on the dock or by using the auxiliary jack, it has to be in direct sight with the music source. If i move or even pass a small object or my hand in between the music source and the auris, the music gets interrupted. It kind of defeats the purpose because i still have to leave my phone sitting still and "facing" the auris so that i dont get music skips or interruptions. And even then, i still sometimes hear skips in songs.

Soon to be 4 months since the last comment. I guess this ones officially gone dark. Too bad some backers find even get products an others got non working units. Another example of prime KS quality!

Creator Peter Precht on April 9
I have already bought a lot of stuff on the internet, even abroad such as Australia, USA and other countries. All things have arrived - except for my Auris.
It is incomprehensible to me how you could send the second without tracking after the disappearance of the first Auris.
a great indication that I should check with local customs agency - An investigation is known, from the place of shipment in the direction of the receiver and not the other way around.
It's amazing that I never got a tracking number for the second Auris.
Now you retreat to your terms and conditions and I must pay 40 USD for your disability.
Too bad that such a great thing as Kickstarter gets a bad rap by such incompetent companies.
Shame on you - none of my friends is what the future will buy from you.
Poor customer service-I often had to write several times to get an answer.

Moin,
hat Ewigkeiten gedauert. Mitte Februar?! Kann mich nicht mehr erinnern. Sind glaube ich von GLS geliefert worden, die haben die Zollgebühren ausgelegt und an der Haustür abkassiert. Genaueres kann ich leider nicht sagen.
Creator Peter Precht on April 4
Hi Johannes,
Creator Johannes Matzke on April 4
Hi, yes i got two Units. If you wanz One, you can have one for the kick starter price + shipping. Only need one since one of my docks doesn't work.
Creator Peter Precht on April 3
Hello from germany, very disappointing. Never got an auris. Original was shipped in December, replacement in February. After asking, when the replacement will arrive , Touccraft tells me to ask my local customs office. I did and customs office say, that the have no unit for me. when there is a problem with shipping to germany, why don´t you ship with the possibility to track the shipment? I buy many things abroad (also at kickstarters) and they all arrived.
what now?
UND IN DEUTSCH:
Hallo,
wer aus Deutschland hat das gleiche Problem mit einer Liefrung nach Deutschland? Durch das fehlende Tracking kann man nicht herausfinden, wo das Teil verschwunden ist. Hat jemand das Teil schon erhalten?
Creator Bruce Ralston on March 29
Well, it works fine for me. The only thing I didn't expect is that my Bose Sounddock doesn't charge the Auris - it needs to be charged separately. Other comments - like the volume needs to be cranked up were expected.
Creator Chris russo on March 28
I think they already did the least they could do when they created this POS.
Creator Rick Ali on March 28
I still haven't received mine. It probably won't work, but the least they could do is send me the damn thing since I paid for it!
Creator Chris russo on March 28
I love the compatability check on the website " if the iPod locks, and the controls are non functional then the Auris won't work for you". Uh, duh!
Way to state the obvious!
Creator Seamaster on March 28
Their silence speaks volumes.
Creator Chris russo on March 27
Coming up on 3 months since the last update. Guess they closed up shop with a hearty "So long, suckers!"
I hope they feel good about themselves.
Creator Chris russo on March 22
I guess KS will put htis down as the culmination of another "successful" project!
As someone else said, I won't be backing anymore KS projects without some real thorough research. Too bad there are some "hit and run" projects like this on here where the project creators turn out crap, don't care and then close up shop. Unfortunately there is no recourse.
Creator Parisri on March 22
Never receive the replacement.
Very Disappoint.
Creator Seamaster on March 20
So I tried my useless Auris with another two Sony docks in the local Sony Store, and it worked with neither, That's 3 out of 3 docks proven incompatible. Message to potential buyers: ASSUME YOUR DOCK WILL NOT BE COMPATIBLE WITH AURIS.
Creator Chris russo on March 19
Wow! It really says something about the personal ethics and integrity of a project creator when it doesn't bother them when people say that the product they spent thier hard earned money on is going into the trash.
Don't you guys feel any guilt about that at all? Guess not by the lack of response. Oh well, you made your money, KS got thier cut, Amazon got theirs. I guess that's all that counts.
Creator Chris russo on March 18
And yet a simple compatability , or in this case, non compatability, chart would solve that problem.
Creator Shawn Starner on March 18
The bad thing is that I was have tried to give the 2 that I have to multiple people since they didn't work for me and couldn't because they don't work for the majority of docks out there. Guess they are going to the trash.....
Creator Monty on March 11
Sorry I am late in making a comment - only just had time.
I have an expensive Bose Dock which only worked with my iphone and after moving to android (and staying there) that Dock had been shelved. Now thanks to Auris I can listen to my music from Samsung Phone on my Bose Dock - very happy thank you !
Creator Chris russo on March 10
Since auris steadfastly refuses to provide a compatibility chart, There is a better chance "it won't work for you".
Creator Seamaster on March 10
That lengthy excuse for why Auris doesn't work with loads of docks makes no sense whatsoever. For example, my very simple Sony clock radio dock "does not lock the iPod/iPhone’s screen and controls" but isn't compatible, despite the claim that "there’s a good chance auris WILL work for you".
Creator Chris russo on March 9
Just wondering how many of the ones you sold were returned? 10%, 25%?
Creator Chris russo on March 9
From the Auris website ( where these are selling for $50 a pop! ):
Compatibility
auris is compatible with all docking stations through the AUX 3.5 mm Line In, however through the 30-pin it isn't compatible with some docking stations that support only digital audio input through the 30-pin connector.
With standard docking stations, like the Bose SoundDock and countless others, compatibility has been excellent almost across the board. However, when it comes to home theater or car stereo systems, there are still some that are not compatible. Here’s a good way to check whether or not auris will be compatible with your system.
Connect an iPod /iPhone to your system. If upon connecting, the iPod/iPhone gets locked onto a screen that reads “Accessory Connected” or something similar (refer pic below) and you find yourself unable to use the controls on the iPod/iPhone, there’s a good chance auris isn’t compatible through the 30-pin.
Here’s why, systems that lock an iPod or iPhone’s screen and control mechanism use a digital audio interface, which specifically requires an iPod or iPhone to be connected. These systems are custom designed with elements like control, data, playlists, etc., all deeply embedded in their own unique software. It isn't simply good enough to “trick” these systems into thinking an iPod is connected because they actually require to continuously communicate with an iDevice on a system specific level.
If you find that your system does not lock the iPod/iPhone’s screen and controls, then there’s a good chance auris WILL work for you. These systems use an analog audio interface, which generally works well with auris, allowing you to listen to your favorite tunes via any Bluetooth® enabled device.
So next time you’re unsure if auris will work for you, perform the above check and see if you get locked out. If not, then you should be good to go.
SO, what you are saying is "We made a product tha doesn't do what it was designed to do, is more expensive than similar products already on the market, we haven't published a compatibility table and the only way to see if it works is to buy one and try it out!
GREAT JOB GUYS!!
Creator Chris russo on March 9
Yet another satisfied customer!
Creator elchets on March 8
Mine was shipped to Miami and brought it yesterday to Peru. Volume and the pared was ok, but I was very disappointed when I tried to put my cellphone into my pocket and the music started to cut.
I was very surprised when I used it as a hands free to answer calls when I used it on my car.
It would be a very good product if you fix the connection problem, because the main purpose why I bought it is because I want I keep my iPhone with me in "long" distances at the same time I play my music.
Hope you could release a firmware upgrade or something to fix it.
I'm still thinking in return it...first I will try it at the beach.
Well backers is the price for "backing up" a project and not a real proved product.
Creator Chris russo on March 6
Hmmm.....
No counterpoint to my 2 day old post......
Shocked.
Creator Frank Rodriguez on March 6
So I use my auris everyday in my commute. I have a 2012 Chevy cruze and it has a USB and 3.5mm jack. USB does not work for audio just for charging. That's fine. Because I still have the 3.5mm jack which works great UNTIL you want to charge while using the jack. Then the volume drastically reduces and is nearly overwhelmed by the humming sound the unit makes. I have to turn it off at that point and let it charge. That's a boring car ride. Also from 10 feet away while I have my headphones attached, if my body gets in the line of sight of the auris and phone it stutters and cuts out. In use it at night so I don't rollover onto my phone.
give it 6 out of 10 stars.
Creator Evan on March 5
Great product, I have had no issues and use mine every single day in my car via aux port. Very impressed how long the battery lasts, usually only charge it once every 3 weeks (probably would last longer but I allow mine to turn off automatically after I get out of my car). It also works on my iHome Radio docking station via 30-pin.
Creator Richard Anthony Billington on March 4
I've been using mine successfully with my MINI Cooper through the installed USB & 3.5mm.
I did hit upon a new use from the auris though - a remote shutter release!
I've got an app for the iPhone called DSLR.Bot which uses a 3.5mm IR transmitter to trigger the shutter on Canons, Nikons, Sonys and some other DSLR's - I've used it with Nikons & Sonys.
As the auris has that 3.5mm port and a rechargable battery I did wonder if it would work if I plugged in the IR transmitter into the auris and sent the release order over bluetooth.... and it works!
So I've now got a full bluetooth audio solution for the car (it was calls only, which still works) and a bluetooth remote trigger for my cameras. Handy for those long exposures & time lapse opportunities.
Ironically I sold the speakers I was going to use the auris with but it's definitely found it's uses! Great little thing, no complaints here.

I just received my replacement unit in the mail but this one also is not working via the dock with my same Sony Home Theatre system and my dock hookup in my Mercedes.

Still waiting for a compatible unit to be available for my Philips Fidelio DS3000 sound dock. It "works", but the sound is very low on it's highest setting with both aux and the pin connection. So it has been sitting in a drawer, unused, since the day I received it. Very disappointing. Expected it to work with any docking station, so if it works with yours, consider yourself lucky! :(
Aaron Cheah on February 12
Seems with auris, u need a compatible speaker. Bring the unit along when buying one.

Creator Chris russo on March 4
Touchkraft,
I guess you are being purposely evasive when you say you have replaced every defective unit. It's obvious that this project has an inherent design flaw. It was supposed to work universally with ALL 30 pin docks. You yourself have admitted it does not. On those it does work with, few and far between, your own posts indicate that the volume on all devices must be cranked to max to even get decent sound. I challenge you to do a satisfaction survey of EACH AND EVERY USER that you sold a unit to and post the results here. If you are so sure you've addressed all the issues you should have no problem doing so. In fact you should be shoving it in my face!
What you delivered is not a "full working product" by a long shot. It's a...... Well, I'll leave off here so i don't get bounced from KS. Again.
Creator Seamaster on March 4
Maybe, but the replacement for my defective unit has exactly the same defect (see below).

Creator Chris russo on March 2
So, 2 months without a response about all those "defective" units.
Mark this as another unqualified Kickstarter success!
Creator Juan Carlos Santana on February 25
in my case everything seems to work, volume is great, buttons work nicely and i get connection from some distance... though theres a big glitch, whenever I hold my phone even touching the least possible it'll start getting interference and stop and go stop and go... even some times when I'm not holding it but some distance away (couple of feet) when that doesn't happen it works great, you just need to know how to use it meaning how to use the buttons they have tricks.
something I noticed was that the signal was kinda in a straight line rather than around as weird as that might sound, I could put my auris on my speakers and my phone on a table 5 feet away and it would work perfectly but as soon as I stood between the both of them 2 feet away from both, the music would stop ?! FIX THIS!
Creator Chris russo on February 24
Saw another one that claims to work with apple docks. Maybe I'll try one.
Creator Chris russo on February 24
This started out well and quickly became a train wreck! Glad I got my refund.
Creator Seamaster on February 24
Latest from Touchkraft is a message saying the Auris isn't compatible with Sony docks. Only when I followed up to ask "so what now?" was I given details of the return/refund process. If I return it *again*, I'll have spent more on shipping and customs fees than the damn thing cost itself. What a way to run a railroad!
Creator Josh Abbett on February 24
Hello, first off great idea for the product. I received mine about a month ago and I have had consistent problems with it. Every time I connect to it with my dock I literally have to have my phone next to the auris, kind of ruins the point. So I tried using the aux out. Exact same problem. Is this common? Am I able to receive a replacement? Thanks in advance
Creator Benjamin Behr on February 22

Creator HeyZeus2003 on February 17
I was originally having problems with my unit that I received and after being contacted by Touchkraft, they concluded that I received a defective unit and agreed to send me a new one if I shipped the old one back. It was worth a shot, so I agreed.
Thankfully, I can say that I'm not 100% pleased with my Auris. It words as promised on my Logitecth S715i.
I hope Touchkraft can do the same for all of you that had similar problems as I was having, where my unit would only work when it was not docked.
