About this project
Los Robles Master Chorale is a 100-voice community choir in Ventura County, California that provides exciting, quality choral concerts in its community. Our 35th Anniversary Season (2012 | 13) includes masterworks by Schoenberg and Mahler, smaller works by Whitacre, Lauridsen and MacMillan, and focuses especially on featuring new choral works composed by new choral composers. In order to present powerful choral music that brings new life to classic repertoire and encourages the creation of new music, we seek to engage those who are passionate about choral music to support our financial goals for the upcoming season. Offering vital premieres, requires the support of individuals who enjoy the experience of hearing 100 human voices blending into one.

Whether conducting the 100 voices of Los Robles Master Chorale, the 115 voices of Los Angeles Master Chorale, or the 80 voices of the New West Symphony Chorus, Lesley Leighton's primary mission remains the same: to nurture southern California's rich choral music tradition. A native of Los Angeles, Leighton studied with Paul Salamunovich at Loyola Marymount University, where she earned her BA in choral conducting. She later obtained her MM in vocal performance from the University of Southern California, where she is currently a candidate for a DMA in choral music.
Leighton is associate conductor of the Los Angeles Master Chorale; artistic director of Los Robles Master Chorale; and music director of New West Symphony Chorus.
