Update #6: Almost Done

Posted on November 12, 2009

Damn! This movie business is not for the impatient.

Hello All!
Just an update for everyone to know where their hard earned money went.
We've gotten back our mastered sound and it's great. We've also, just in the last day or so, received a 98% complete color correction (just 3 shots that we have to 're-color'). We had some troubles with codecs and the like that have made this process much longer than we anticipated, but you guys don't want to hear the tech details.

Brass Tacks; We've submitted the movie to 4 festivals so far and we're just about to start our massive submission process. We anticipate sending out movies to all that donated at the proper level in the next few weeks and you'll be glad to know that you name is now in the credits of a real Hollywood (via Atlanta) movie, he he.

Thanks again to everyone out there that helped out and we'll post more when theres more to tell.
Mike & Kathy

Update #5: Addresses Please

Hey Guys,
For those of you that donated at a level that got you a copy of the movie (that was every one) ...
Please send us you address so we can mail out your reward when the time comes.

Update #3: YOW ZAA

Posted on August 11, 2009

WOW!
We made it...and then some.
I can't express how overwhelmed we are at the outpouring of support that we received from friends, family, and a few strangers.
You guys have pushed us way past our goal and we think that we might be able to get EVERYTHING done on our list...color, sound mastering, news footage...the works.
We're going to make a movie thank you and post it up in a few days just so you can all see our beaming faces.
This makes a lot of weddings that we'll be dancing at.
Cheers,
Mike & Kathy

I've been making movies in one form or another since my 10th grade English teacher said "you can make a movie or write a term paper". It's been all over since then.

I've shot fishing shows and freestyle motocross, all in the same week. Cooking shows and fake commercials for products that no one wants. I once starred in a commercial for Anderson's Outdoors, a bait and tackle emporium. I've ridden backwards on a motorcycle going 80 mph down I-75 to get a shot and I've duct taped a camera to my hand so it wouldn't fly off and get destroyed. I've shot footage on 3 continents and been yelled at by 30 different producers. If it's got a lens, focus ring and zoom control...I can make it work.

So after hundreds of clients, months worth of video, thousands of miles of travel and a few gray hairs to boot, I'm still doing what I knew I wanted to do since puberty.
To capture as much of life as is possible and put it in a bottle....or a tape.
Either or suites me.
Cheers,
Mike
