Connected as Anita Riggio (635 friends)
Anita Riggio is an award-winning author/illustrator of children's books including "Beware the Brindlebeast." She is the writer, lyricist and producer of Brindlebeast, a new classically American musical in voice, song, dance and sign language.
"Have you made peace with the beast?"
Every journey has its own little bumps and twists but that only makes the eventual arrival sweeter.
This afternoon as I scrolled through the names of the hundred and one people who have backed Brindlebeast, I noticed that four backers had also contributed to four other now fully-funded projects.
One project was mentioned in an article about Kickstarter that appeared this week in the Hartford Advocate. Another project is a self-published book of essays on writing for children by a well-known children's book editor. A third project supports a start-up publisher of multi-cultural fantasy books for children and young adults. And the fourth is a documentary film project by an actor/singer/dancer who is traveling back to South Korea for the first time since her adoption at six months old by an American family.
Very cool...and very synchronistic...
The Hartford Advocate article led off with a bit about Brindlebeast. I've sung showtunes around a campfire with the self-publishing editor. The small multi-cultural fantasy publisher is backed by an award-winning writer-friend. And most astonishingly, the actor/singer/dancer appeared in the production of MISS SAIGON in Houston last year with Eric Kunze.
It seems pretty clear--to borrow from as children's book author Katherine Paterson--we're all made up by the "same stuff as stars."
Thank you, all...

Thank you so much to everybody who helped Brindlebeast reach its fundraising goal! Pledges are still open until end of day Sept 1st if anyone wanted to contribute, but has not had the chance. You are all amazing and I thank you so much for your support and interest in the project. Here we go!!
Eric
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
But don't call off the dogs yet! There are still 58 hours to pledge--and to ratchet the readings up from the planned 29-hour reading to the next level, we could use every dollar we can squeeze out.

Thank you, Jeannine!! We are all so excited about Brindlebeast--and SO glad you are, too! I promise it won't disappoint anyone, but especailly not Eric's fans. He'll have thirteen songs to sing including three power ballads. In his role as Will, he'll be doing some piano playing (a bit) and a fair amount of dancing! He's psyched; we're psyched! Thanks for helping--and for helping to spread the word!
Hello Anita, I am also an official Eric Kunze fanclub member and am very excited about this project...Let's go Brindlebeast!
Thank you, Donna! This musical is being written specifically for Eric, who is elated by the prospect of it! We are thrilled to be working with him!
I'm a member of the Eric Kunze Fanclub and with Eric in this project. I know it will be a success.
