Hello you beautiful kickstarters!
We are filming two short films, we have a talented cast and crew and are excited to get these made and share them with you.
I have written two short film scripts that when emailed to actors and a director were jumped on for the opportunity to be made. These scripts are really a project of LOVE, and we (ALL OF US), are going to get them made!
Here is some info about each of the films:
Morning, is a film that centers around two individuals meeting in the middle of the night for no other reason than one choosing to speak to the other, and from that point they decide rather than be alone without another person in their lives, they will stay together until morning. This is a case of two people lacking love, being in search of something other than themselves, and maybe not finding an answer but developing new questions. This is something I feel many of you can relate to, and it is very accessible to find a bit of yourself in each of these people.
A History of Lovers sits at a bit of the opposite end of the spectrum, two people traveling are staying at a motel for the night. This is a glimpse into a world, or moment in time, where nothing exists other than the love between two people. These two find themselves in a state where they don't have to question anything, they can just be what and who they are to each other. This short is actually a part of a larger project consisting of 12 short films that occur in the same location.
Now, I'm not one for spoilers, but I will tell you this - these are two films about people like you or I, and capture parts of life that are reasons for living...to be alive. These are stories I am really excited to share!
So now onto the plan of no return to get these made!! We are bringing a small crew and the cast from NYC to a small town in Upstate NY for one week. Since we have the actress for both films for a week, we are shooting both. MORNING will shoot over 3 days, and A HISTORY OF LOVERS over one day on an all day shoot (takes place in a single location), with an extra day to shoot if we need it.
The very talented and lovely Celina Carvajal (“Rooms”, “The Toxic Avenger”, “MTV’s Legally Blonde: The Search For Elle Woods”, “The Big Gay Musical”, “Tarzan”) is the actress who will be featured in both, and I am certain she is going to be amazing.

Jason Carden (who I've worked with in NYC) is co-directing these shorts, and if you want a look at some of his work (acting as well), you can take a look at the web series he created called Three Percent Enemies.
note: that is a web series and shot with a very specific style, it is unrelated to the two shorts we are working on, but gives you an example of some work.
I am covering as much of the cost of the project as I am able to myself.
We do need to cover housing, transportation, and meals (so we are keeping the crew small) as well as the cost of getting both of these made the way we want - which includes some equipment rentals and other equipment costs.
This is where all the aforementioned beautiful people and kickstarter get involved in helping this dream become a reality, helping the films get made, and getting some cool/fun/super exciting stuff along with A GIANT THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS. You will be our crew that is present in spirit and workin' your mojo. :)

I made one of these as a gift for a friend about a year ago, and (according to that person) it is one of the best gifts they have ever been given! They really do look cool, and I will spend a lot of time customizing them to the person who is getting them. As Peter Gabriel was to the music video, so am I to the cigar box!
