Spice Mixology was founded initially to fill a personal desire for more unusual and creative flavorings for her own cooking. My love of cooking with complex spice and herb combinations has continued throughout my life and, after years of encouragement from friends and family, I've decided to offer my unique blends to the world.

 

Since Kickstarter funding is an “all or nothing” proposition, I am asking for a minimum of $1,500, which will allow me to get finalized label designs so that I have a professional looking product to present to potential customers and to finalize the website spicemixology.com.

 

However, I would like to be able to scale up to minimum commercial production so if you can help me exceed that threshold and I can reach $3,000, Ican begin small-scale commercial production.

 

As long as I’m dreaming, if you help me achieve $5,000 I can establish a relationship with a commercial distributor and scale up production to a level that will allow me to expand into a wider variety of retailers and get the company off the ground more quickly.

 

More about my philosophy and the products

I believe that spices and herbs should enhance the flavors of the foods they are used with and not overpower them. Spice Mixology’s offerings of Mixes are flavorful but not painfully overwhelming. The Mixes are balanced to enhance, brighten and add depth to the food. They are not the stars of the dish but rather critical supporting actors.

By understanding the flavor profiles of global regional cooking, I've been able to create a broad spectrum of spice Mixes that reflect the unique characteristics of number of regional cooking styles.

 

The six spice blends in the initial product offering of Spice Mixology are only the first of many to come. I continue to experiment with and test new combinations of flavors and to refine each one to perfection before including it in the product line.

In addition, I'm developing a method for drying, chopped Kalamata Olives and Feta Cheese (products unique to the market and currently unavailable from any source) that can be used to enhance the flavor and richness of a wide range of dishes from meats and poultry to spreads, soft cheeses, such as goat cheese, soups and dipping sauces.

Spice Mixology’s Mixes have a much more subtle, yet complex flavor profile than a typical spice mix. They are more flavorful than the “big box” blends, relying on intricate mixtures of a broad variety of spices as well as non-traditional food ingredients to impart deep, sumptuous flavors not muddled tones.

• Spice Mixology Mixes are made with a wide variety of ingredients from traditional herbs and spices to unusual food items. The Mixes have between 14 and 22 ingredients each.
  

• The inclusion of cheeses and olives adds richness to the cooking experience.

• The use of vinegar and yogurt powders enhances the tart authenticity of particular taste profiles.

• The use of large necked, jewel-like jars adds to the ease of use and the ambiance of the display experience.

• Ours is an unusual collection of exotic ethnic spice mixes including recipes for creating a unique taste and cooking experience.

Spice Mixlogy’s products provide flavor-enhancing, aromatic spice mixes for the home cook as well as the professional chef. By carefully combining the very best organic herbs and spices we supply the discerning cook with all that’s needed to create flavorful, exotic and authentic dishes.

 

All our ingredients are of the highest quality. In addition, herbs and spices have also been shown to have positive health effects including being an excellent source of antioxidants. The current product line includes seven spice mixes. Most are compounded to reflect the ethnic characteristics of a particular world cuisine.
