Three Irish Widows versus The Rest of the World is a darkly comic look at what it takes to be an Irish Catholic feminist in the modern world.

Three working class 65-year-old Irish women-- Maura, Margaret and Breda--journey throughout Europe, New York City, and all over the world in search of the fulfillment that always eluded them in the backwaters of Ireland. Will they find it, or will they end up disgusted and disillusioned by the Sex and the City generation?

What I want to do is to secure funding to bring this one-man-show to highly respected New York theater venue PS122 (www.ps122.org). The venue are extremely interested in my show and have offered me the once in a lifetime opportunity to perform at the venue. However, I need financial assistance to pay the venue for the rental of their space.

I have already performed this show for five runs in a smaller, off-off-Broadway theater space but this opportunity is the one I have been waiting for.The show has been very positively reviewed by the highly respected nytheatre.com (http://www.nytheatre.com/nytheatre/showpage.php...) and Theater Is Easy (http://www.theasy.com/Reviews/threeirishwidows.php).

If I was to acquire the sufficient funds to finance my show at PS122, it would be the ideal opportunity to bring my unique blend of physical theater, comedy and Irish storytelling to a wider audience and would also give me the opportunity to truly advance my career aspirations of becoming a full-time, respected writer and performer. I firmly believe that I have the ability to achieve this; it is merely the financial obstacles that are standing in my way.
