Give Some <3 to Project Dad
Hi Lovely Trainers,
Over the last few years, I've had an amazing experience on Kickstarter, both as a backer and with Love Train (SIDENOTE: I haven't forgotten about the final component of the project, which, yes, amid the chaos of a particularly chaotic life-moment has been agonizingly slow going. I'm still working on it and will keep you posted on its progress. Many, many apologies for the slothy pace).
That said, there's something else I want to bring up now. You see, Love Train's video was animated by a dear friend, Sharon Shattuck, as a complete favor (because she's awesome like that). As it turns out, Sharon now has her own project up on Kickstarter: Project Dad.

<---Say hi to Sharon.
Here's what happened: when Sharon was just a kid, her dad told her that he identified as a woman and that he was going to change his name to Trisha. Now, Sharon has decided to explore her father's experience, along with the experience of LGBT families across America.
A short version of the film called "Name Change" has already been featured in The New York Times, if you want to check it out. There's also a site up for the project.
While the debates around marriage equality are turned up to 10 in the political arena, millions of LGBT people struggle with issues around family and child-rearing every day in relative silence. I'm hoping you'll help Sharon tell an extremely important and largely untold story by supporting and spreading the word about Project Dad.
<3 to you,
G
