I want to write a book about how Reddit.com literally saved my life.
I was sick for several years. Even the doctors had no idea what was wrong with me. I did dozens of tests & they still knew nothing.
One evening I happened to read this story (the odds of me seeing it on the front page that evening were pretty slim):

They posted it as a joke but I knew without a doubt that I would look like this man if I did not get help. The comments mentioned Cushing's Disease. I immediately looked it up online. I HAD ALL OF THE SYMPTOMS.
I printed out what I had found & took it to my doctor. He laughed at me & said how much he hated the internet. He hated how much patients self-diagnosed their conditions. He said there was no way I had Cushing's Syndrome.
I finally found a good doctor & she knew immediately what was wrong with me.
A fews months later I was under the knife having my adrenal gland removed (including the tumor).
The doctors said I was a 1 in a billion case.
I'm now recovering and doing well and it's all thanks to Reddit!
I want to inspire others to overcome adversity. I also want to share my story of life, which could have very well been someone else telling my story of tragedy.

Unfortunately my current job just barely pays my medical bills. Your money will help me pay living expenses while I write the book. It will also help with costs associated with publishing it (agent, editor and publisher, etc.)

My current job is just barely paying my medical bills. I will use this money for living expenses while I write the book. It will also go towards finding a literary agent, lawyer and publisher. If I can't find any of these, I will consider self-publishing, which will have its own expenses.
