Our theatre-artist collective is committed to giving the American theatre a blood transfusion through a fully realized, vital production of LOST IN THE WOODS (working title): a new ten character, four act play set in a Lake Tahoe cabin through years of vacations, celebrations, & rituals. After two and a half years of readings and workshops, we are ready to premiere this play in Los Angeles for a nine week run in May 2011. In order to realize this goal, we need to: rent a rehearsal space, secure a theatre space rental for 9 weekends of performances; hire a design team (most critically a set designer to help create a realistic cabin playing space) and a stage manager; shoot & edit montage film sequences for onstage video projections; set up screens for video projections; build a realistic cabin set which includes a loft space & a porch space; supply costumes for a cast of 10; and raise funds for publicity.

Our process is twofold. We will engage in a standard theatrical rehearsal process under the direction of Brian Deneen wherein we stage the action of the play. We also plan to include an addendum to this: an Ensemble Hour prior to each rehearsal which will be used as a laboratory for us to build a deep ensemble trust and connection, practice our skills, and hold each other to our shared principles. Each Ensemble Hour will be led by a specialized theatre practitioner - a Viewpoints, Feldenkrais, or Meisner teacher. We plan to allocate some budget to making these Ensemble Hours happen.

We believe in this story and the shared talents of these artists to tell it... & feel we are ready to create a truly rewarding theatre experience for an audience...
