Welcome to my process based watch creation. This all start with my desire to have a watch that was solid and honest. A very liquid dinner party with friends catapulted this project. Thanks to Ian, Jon and Virgil. Designers, Architects and Engineers seem to like the approach.
The concept preserves all the actions involved in forming the watch. The saw cut marks from the steel yard, the waterjet pattern and lathe cuts are unpolished and clearly visible. The fasteners are even exposed.
This first edition watch is available in 303 stainless steel with a Swiss ETA 6497-1 mechanical movement or a 515 Swiss Ronda quartz movement.

This is a solid handmade watch. Honest use of materials and no decoration.

All materials are sourced were I live and machined by myself.
Raw metal that is modified as little as possible. One cut. No buffing. No Paint. No PVD. No Decoration and NO BRANDING..........
The parts are machined on a Hardinge lathe and cleaned up by hand. The parts are all solid and will last forever.
This is all done in the San Francisco bay area. Made in America using only American tools..... and signed on the inside of the case, dated and numbered........

This is a great alternative to all the aluminum products that are consumed and disposed of....after the color and finishes decay...........
I received my first sample and snapped these photos. It is a very nice mechanism.......well trimmed and slightly decorated. The photos do not do this justice. The screws are dark blue the wheels are gold colored and the bearing are red...........There is a video of the mechanism at the top of the site. Just push the button in the center of the first photo.

As you can see the bands are being made. Keidi is busy working with a beautiful oil tanned leather. So far 68 are cut and partially fabricated. Lots more work ahead. These are our hand made bands that are included with any watch or non-watch purchase. Extra bands will also be available.

These are the commercial bands. I will send a survey to each person who has pledged and ask for your band choices at the end of the Kickstarter campaign.
The watch is available with either the hand made band in the first photo at the top of the site or these oil tanned bands. The watch takes 24mm bands so many colors are available. I am limiting the basic choice to 3. Let me know what I should add.
The watches are 48mm in diameter with a 40mm crystal. A technical drawing of sections through the case is shown below......

This is the lathe that I have made all of the prototypes on. It is the most precise lathe that I have access to. I did find a lathe that is a bit more accurate and have ordered it. It is a Levin Instrument Lathe.... Made in Culver City, CA USA It will be here next week. I will keep you all posted.

This is a bit optimistic but......... this level offers a reward of a WHITE GOLD version of the Swiss Mechanical Movement watch. My first nice watch was a Georg Jensen in Stainless and then an 18kt Blancpain. I always wanted both in white gold......
